I always enjoy a new edition of Cormanus Chronicles!

It's funny...I have met only a small number of forum members over 7,8 years on the forum having attended only one west coast rally. I "know" most of you by your forum nicknames, so it's fun to see faces attached to the names.

The main connection I make is someone's forum name with location. "Cormanus" conjures up squiggly blue lines on maps in eastern Australia. "Ferret" means a wooded driveway somewhere in Ohio. I see "peterbaron" responds to someone and I shiver with cold from Canada..."GoldOxide" and "Gone in 60" always confuse me though, one's always avoiding LA traffic and the other is just as cold as peterbaron. "EmptySea / MTC" means Chicago, "LordPopgun" back east, I think he and "Houtman" are middle Atlantic... "Dave" in San Diego, "max" and "treedoc" are island bound just east over the horizon from Cormanus, deserts images pop into my mind when "tod.branko" posts, "Jfro5687" means "Big Ben"...and many others...

I know, silly associations... but I think it's cool that there's so many places, trips cultures, values, ideas shared here--all brought together by a common affection for a little maching on two wheels.

Ferret, my beard is very grey now, particularly when it gets a bit longer. Strangley there is very little grey in what little is left of my hair.

Houtman, take your friends for a gentle ride along the BRP. It does seem to help. Otherwise maybe bheezy's brewery would do the trick. Takeaway may be necessary for COVID reasons.

treedoc, as I said, I was surprised and pleased by how green it was. It ought to be: this is our wet season after all, although we've had less than average rainfall. It often doesn't seem to help that area just north of the Queensland - New South Wales border. I think much of the rain falls on the southern side.

pdedse, thank you for those whimsical reflections on forum names. I see you and LongRanger having the same dwarfing impact as GrahamT on the CB1100. Come to Queensland when you eventually get to Australia to visit your sister. I'm hoping there may be a ride in my near future which will result in another episode in the Chronicles.

Cormanus , the problem is that I can not take some of my friends to Bheezy's brewery as a few of them are "ex" alcoholics and have to go to AA meetings daily , now done thru zoom. One of them has been sober for 40 years and still has a daily meeting to help others. When he told me a few months ago that he was sober for 40 years I told him " let's go out for a drink to celebrate this " My wife thinks that I am awful to say that .

Yeah, I know people in similar situation, but not 40 years - more like 20.

I also knew a few who after 15 years or so began to drink responsibly and humbly. I believe those people beat their demon.

For the others, when that urge comes, might be better to instead find that CB1100, mount it and take you to the horizon.

Yes , these friends ride bikes and we OFTEN go on the BRP and meet at the Pisgah Inn Country Store and yes they do know my sense of humor and love it. Also we have the same political views which make it easier to have a conversation.

Yes, even my non-mc-loving wife notices the "dwarfing impact"...says I look like I'm riding a pony on the CB and that I look much better on my KLR650--that it fits me like a horse.

Will do!! Sis has been in Adelaide for about 40 of the last 50 years, and I've never visited--always "have to" use vacation time go to Costa Rica because of my wife's family. As I get older, I dread the long flights. But I'm still hopeful. My sister probably won't understand my insistence that I visit Queensland first : )
