[Wisedrum]

This year I didn't travel as long and far away as I did in the years before.
But nevertheless I roadtripped to my neighbour country Denmark for 9 days and wrote a Roadbook about the trip in German. Though you most likely can't understand what I'm writing about you can take a look at the pictures and guess what could be the concerned text.

I took the W800 instead of my CB this time, both are lovely bikes to tour with.

But I would expect the mug of the author to begin or end the book. I think it would add meaningful value to the story.

Absolutely Wisedrum:

"mug" is English [humorous] slang for "face".

So, "The author's face".

How did you get along with the W800 on this trip?

Simply in one word: fine.

A little more detailed: Though the W800 was fully packed, you can see it on the pictures, it carried me and all the luggage along without any problem. The engine has in my opinion enough power and torque for all situations on the trip but I wether pushed the W hard, nor used the brakes often or hard, just let the motorbike easily roll along within the allowed speedlimits in Denmark. They aren't high, mostly between 70- 110km/h. The fuel consumption was round about 3,9l/100km, on the low side. No part of the W felt apart, was damaged or refused to work. The trip only lasted 9 days over 1.800km. Not an extensive long one. The W has now run over 74.000km, is over 10 years old and is a of course a used motorbike after all the years and km. But it still works good and is reliabe. I rode much longer trips with it in previous years and never feared that the W refused to run or leave me somewhere stranded. I will go with the Kawa on upcoming tours no matter to which places and how long they will last and I will trust her.

But the next year I will take the CB again. Or maybe even the Bullet to find out how it feels to tour with the Enfield.

To my shame, I can’t read the German, Wisedrum, but I enjoyed the pictures and figure a man who quotes Pat Metheny has to be okay. While I’ve forgotten the name of the man playing drums for him the first time I saw him live, I’ve not forgotten his drumming.

Throughout his career Pat has worked with a lot of drummers. To name some jazz greats there were Bob Moses, Roy Haynes, Billy Higgins, Jack DeJohnette and Bill Stewart.

In his Metheny Group played Danny Gottlieb, Paul Wertico and in the last years Antonio Sanchez. I guess you saw him. On his upcoming record is Marcus Gilmore, a nephew of Roy Haynes, on drums.
