Hi Guys
Long time reader, first time poster. Learned lots of great things about the bike on this forum. Thanks for all the info!
I purchased a used 2014 deluxe last year late September, basically had it for about a year. Within these past 12 months, I've been rear ended 4 times. Every single time - I was stopped at a stop sign. Every. Single. Time.
This last time about 3 weeks ago, I got hit hard. Couldn't drive the vehicle back. First thing I noticed was the saddle being a bit loose. I took the bike to my local shop which will remain anonymous, and they said the frame wasn't bent. I'm not a mechanic, but it seems to me the saddle is attached directly to the frame. If the frame was bent, would that possible cause the saddle to loosen up? The mechanic pretty much accused me of trying to total the bike, all I care about is that arse is safe going down the highway.
So how loose is it? I have 2 seats, a corbin and the stock seat. Both would be rock solid when installed. Wouldn't budge. Now it has at least an inch play upward after being locked in place - could there be something else bent that would cause the seat to loosen up?
Do you guys think it's possible for the saddle to be loose without frame damage? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum audiomanipulator. Good you finally came out, as it were.
You've had a rotten run of luck, haven't you? Rear ended 4 times in less than 12 months.
If that's a photo of the most recent biff, it looks like a mighty clout. I hope you're OK in the aftermath.
It's hard to think that something didn't get shifted in there, but I wouldn't know whether the frame sustained serious damage. I think, though, I'd be after a second opinion.

Remove the seat. Take some EXACT key measurements. Like seat latch to tank bolt and so forth . Post them. Somebody with a DLX who hadn’t been rear ended 4 times will be along shortly to give you comparative measurements. Hope for the best!

Geezalou, hit from behind 4 times in 12 months?. Knock on wood I have been gently tapped once in 54 years, and that was once too many.
Looking at that pic I cant imagine the frame back there NOT being bent. Did they do a wreck estimate on it?

estimate comes in on tuesday, they already worked on the bike and need to put together the price list.

AM, you might like to point out to the mechanic that no sane person would want to write off a DLX as they're as rare as rocking horse turds.

Kinda wonder if your brake light wasn't working. If you get the bike put back into running order, might consider adding some [url=https://hyperlites.com]Hyperlites.

Is the bike at a Honda dealer or an independent shop? The Honda dealer might have a new or customer bike he could compare to, or at least would be more aware of how things fit.
As a former service manager who has written hundreds of estimates, I would not recommend authorizing repair until the estimate is agreed upon. It is your right to accept or dispute the estimate.
Insurance companies don't want to pay for a partial repair, then find out they have to total the bike. That is usually what happens with a bent frame.

Here's the bizarre thing, I towed the bike to my house after the accident, the insurance company sent an adjuster to my house, and said he had to pay me something for his viewing, and gave me a very unnecessary payout of a couple of hundred dollars, without an inspection from a mechanic. He said he had to payout based on his estimations and that the mechanic would be able to change that if needed. Thats probably only the cosmetic damages, I know for a fact as per the mechanic that the swing arm is bent. That part alone is more then the entire payout they already made.
It is in fact a honda dealer.

They all happened in broad day light. Either fully stopped at a red light or stop sign. The most recent was at a merge on a highway, he thought I went - I didn't, he turned his head, slams the gas pedal, and slams into me.
