New Mexcio highway 337

I unretired last week, at age 77, with the purchase of a 2024 Yamaha Bolt XVS950 (now XVS95CRB).
173 miles Tuesday with over 300 miles first week.
Highway 47 from Belen is desert.
Highway 60 changes from desert to forest.
Mountainair is 6,000 feet elevation.
Highway 55 is mostly farms up to Salinas Pueblo Quarai ruins.

Highway 337 on the east side of the Manzano Mountains goes through beautiful pines at about 7,000 feet elevation.
It joins Interstate 40 at exit 175, east of Albuquerque.
Circled home via I40 and I25.
Topped off in Albuquerque at 136.1 miles with 2.213 gallons for 61.5 MPG.
87 octane fuel was $3.299 compared to 86 octane in Belen for $2.99.

Bike is stock other than
Auxito H4 headlight bulb
194 LED license plate light bulb (run/stop is factory LED)
Rear fender rack
Rack case

The case holds a battery powered tire pump, Dynaplug kit, rain jacket and strap to secure a jacket over the case.

This bike comes with a toolkit under locking left side cover, but the only Yamaha tools retained in the kit are the two open end wrenches.

He's Back! Good to 'see' you again, S-Doc. I've wondered about the Bolt, have sat on a few, but not ridden. What do you think of it so far? Doesn't it have forward foot controls?

And it looks like Honda and Yamaha are tied for the overall lead...that means you'll have to keep riding till you break the tie.

Other than a wild horse bumping a mirror, I recall using my tools after the seventies only for others.
60+ miles today to son's place in San Acacia and back. No scenic photos
PB: Multimeter comment noted. The plastic case on the one I keep in the truck has turned sticky, probably from Las Vegas, NV heat. Cannot remember the last time I used it. Amazed that the 3 - 357 batteries still work! I do check that occasionally.
pdedse: Whereas the CB1100 is very slightly rear set, probably due to engine configuration, the Bolt is very slightly forward, but not at all forward controls.
This my second Bolt. It is very comfortable. The 1" handlebars, with larger grips, eliminate hand tingling (at least for me) after long distances
Ferret: Simple and reliable
mvk24: The Bolt sits low, but is a bit heavy. Probably due to seating height, I do not feel the need for a Dart Marlin, as I have used on several bikes.
