Since I've been lusting after the CB11 for 3 years, I had plenty of time to search the web and see what other people (mainly in Japan and Australia) were doing with them.

A Japanese company called Whitehouse came up with some wild bolt on mods. They figured that since the CB11 was a nod to the glory days of the inline 4, they'd go a few steps further and replicate the look of the origial '69 CB750K. The result was pretty impressive.

Here's the Whitehouse CB1100IK10 :

This is the original '69 CB750K :

Here are some other shotss :

The bulk of this mod are the tank, seat and side covers. I was considering this because I really like the idea of an early 70s bike with all the technology of a 2013 bike. Unfortunately, the price tag is pretty steep. Seat, tank and side covers from Japan would end up in the $3.5K range.

I probably won't pull the trigger on this (at least not in the near future). Just thought you guys might find it interesting.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. The new tank is 3/4 gal. larger, bringing the total capacity to 4.6 gal.

The front fender is available from Whitehouse as part of the package. They also sell the color matched headlight mount.

I find the Whitehouse kit interesting, but the tank simply looks a bit too bulbous to my eyes. I'm glad that Honda didn't choose to go this route for the CB1100 as I much prefer the design of the bike just as they've been rolling into the dealer showrooms. I think the decision to go with a design/style that pays homage to many different past CBs was a wise one.

Still, it will be interesting to see what mods and accessories will become available for direct purchase here in the States and in Europe over the next year or so (as opposed to needing to order parts from Japan).

Call me old fashioned, but I do love the look of the old 4 into 4 exhaust on the original CB750s. That is the one piece I wish the CB1100 had but I am sure it would have made the bike more costly to manufacture and get through emission regulations here in the US. Love the look of the Whitehouse CB1100K10.

I'm not sure why Whitehouse didn't use it, but there is a 4 into 4 aftermarket pipe avialable (just can't remember where). It would have really completed the look of their replibike.

I'm wondering if that tank is fiberglass. If it is it could be problematic with our ethanol laced, glass eating fuel.
I once tried to order a tank from Japan for my thruxton. The tank looked for all the world like steel but it was glass (and very expensive).
I backed out when I found out it was glass.
