Take that wind!

Got my new windscreen for the CB11 and I'm thrilled. A little annoyed with the hose clamps though...hubby is trying to figure out a better way of attaching it to the bike.Huh

Have you taken it out with it yet? I'm needing a screen....BADLY! I commute 120 miles a day and the wind out here has been ATTROCIOUS lately.

Not yet but the hubby did. He said it makes a HUGE difference! Going to try it out tomorrow, yay! Big Grin

I got the windscreen for $102 + free shipping. It's a National Cycle screen for the CB1100.

That looks nice! And taller than the Puig I installed. Let us know how it works. I might get one for cooler weather.

Is that the Street Shield or Deflector Screen? I'm thinking Deflector Screen.

It does look very nice!

I'm curious why hose clamps were needed. Supposedly NC screens have a pretty good universal mounting system.

Yes, could we see a better picture of the hose clamps you refer too?

Thanks

It's the Steetshield, model #N2560

It's funny that the parts list & directions call them "fork hose clamps"

Getting ready to head out to try the bike with the shield, I'll let you know how it goes. Big Grin

Looks good! I initially thought I wanted the Street Shield, but ended up going with the slightly smaller Deflector instead. I was concerned that the Deflector only used two handlebar mounting points, but it turned out to be solid as a rock.

The hose clamp is standard for any of National Cycle's 4 point mounted shields. One warning, make sure that they are as high up on the forks as possible. I had a National Cycle Plexi 3 on my CB750 and installed the clamps above the "dust line" on the tubes. That worked fine until I put about 80 lbs. of gear on the back for a camping road trip. Turns out the front end dives a lot farther with a load on the back. Within 700 miles I'd toasted both fork seals. Expensive and frustrating lesson.

Any further ride-report Dangergirl? I installed the Puig on mine and it helps, but i'm still getting tired of the wind blast. Initially i wanted the least obvious (small) shield I could find, but now I think I should have gone larger for comfort. Anxious to hear more about your experience with this shield.

Thanks
