CB1100 Questions from a potential new owner
#51
If ABS there will be a slotted ring on front and rear wheels. There is no rear ABS. The ring on the rear is for the speedo to read.

Pics are sh*tty on the ad. Any known factory defects to look out for?

“...as for the RLETS, allow me to end the trolling once and for all, its about the stupidest ownership mod I've come across, ever. But to each their own, I certainly hope that doesn't offend anyone.” Nah, no one is ever offended by being called stupid. Dodgy But, if RLETs aren’t your thing, maybe consider the Quarter-on-the-Throttlebody mod. You’ll have to search for the details yourself, though - Don’t want to tee up another opportunity for you to criticize my taste.

I think I read somewhere that these all have ABS in the rear wheel?

TIA

Assuming we're still talking about a 2014 model, is the bike black or red? If it's black, it has no ABS. If it's red, it has ABS.

Picture not perfect for front tone wheel, but cannot see front sensor wire, so most likely no ABS.

In general, IF it has FRONT tone wheel = must be ABS, or turn ignition on to see if ABS amber light is on.
For sure it has rear tone wheel for VSS/WSS, but don't assume ABS.
Good luck Thumbs Up

I can recall two instances when I was backing my cb1100 out of the garage, next to the car where the space was a bit tight, and as I was looking back trying to avoid the recycling bins, I lost sight how close the handle bars were to the car...the lever end rubbed up against the side of the car. 2" scratched car door was averted as RLET saved the day, doing exactly what it was designed to do.

I learn quickly--I moved things around and now I keep my eye on the handlebars...but now I've come close to scratching the mufflers on the recycle bins!

Note: must clean garage!

I believe a similar little rubber end thingy saved a situation for me too and I took it for granted. That said, I wish the bicycles had them for a few situations where things ended up not as lucky. Undecided
