remus powercone slip-on exhaust
#1

hello everyone. I just received my remus powercone slip-on exhaust. It is stainless steel, has a removable db killer, and has a welded bracket on the mid pipe for the center stand to rest against. It took about 10 minutes to remove stock muffler and install the remus. First impressions, the exhaust is high quality, heavy stainless steel. The sound with the baffle in is deep bassy but almost as quiet as stock. With the baffle out, it sounds like a supersport race bike, the idle is deep but not obnoxiously loud. When you apply the throttle on acceleration it is progressively louder. When you reach you desired speed it quiets down to a low rumble, apply throttle and it roars. It seems to have a little more pep even at low speeds, as I accidently did a small wheelie in first when slamming the throttle. I will make a sound video some time Tuesday or Wednesday as I have a friend at work who knows how to do that sort of thing. The remus powercone was not cheap as it was almost as expensive as the staintune. It was $735 by the time the shipping and tax and all. I waited almost 2 months to receive it. I almost bought the staintune, but I wanted a removable baffle so I could choose how loud or quiet I wanted the pipe. The baffle just slips right in and put circlip in, it takes about 30 seconds to remove or put back in. I thought people may be interested in exhaust choices so I took a gamble and bought the remus. I am very glad I did. It makes the bike more fun to ride.

Cool, I agree about the extra sound making the CB funner to ride, I LOVE the sound as I ride around.
Looking forward to hearing your video.....don't forget to throw in a redline shift or two :-)

I like it better than other aftermarket slipons, sits higher, easier access for chain adjustment and nice shape. Thumbs Up

I agree it looks the best of what Ive seen, and sounds pretty good. But Speaking for myself, nothing makes the CB sound better by enough of a margin for me to part with that much moolah. I just don't feel it's possible to make that engine sound "ballsy" enough.

Glad to see some other options.

Really like the idea of a removable baffle.

Just not so sure about the way it looks--- the name on it (which might come off), and the back part of it with the slant or tapered look.

But still, thanks for showing us.

I also thought it may blend in better without the sticker, so I removed it with a hair dryer.

I think it looks great! Flows nicely with the lines of the bike. Can't wait to hear it. Of course, the true sound can only be heard in person. Even with the best recording device, I'll be listening through the speakers of my Lenovo ThinkPad (not very impressive).

First off that looks Bad -A$$

Are slip ons really worth that much money though? I'd say $300-400 tops for a slip on. Accessories and aftermarket parts for the CB seemed way overpriced. I spent $400 on a full black ceramic coated exhaust system for my shadow I had, superb quality. $650-800 will get you a full thunderheader system for a harley. Is it because this is all imported? I'd love to get a slip on but no way I'll fork out that much for a small performance gain and a few dbs till these prices come down. for $735 I'd expect it to retain the heat shield.

I considered getting a full no cat system for around $800, the K-fac from samurider. But then I would have to get a $300 powercommander and then pay more money to get dyno tuning and all of a sudden $700 doesnt seem all that bad.
The stock muffler is $690 plus another $40 for end cap. So about the same price as stock for remus.
