I test rode a Scout last year and thought the seat comfortable but my wife thought it a misery but otherwise liked the Scout very much.
Yes, Rich and his team added a fair amount of foam to the Scout seat, widened it a bit, reduced the center hump, added a panel of leather to the back to accommodate the added bulk, stitched it back up as good or better than factory spec, and my wife says the difference is night and day. She was experiencing actual pain before, not just discomfort...Rich spotted right away that the angle and cut of the original seat was not supporting her properly and addressed the situation. My wife now says it feels like she could ride all day with no problem...music to my ears Smile

I was nervous about that myself. I've seen other rebuilt or replacement seats that don't quite look right... what Rich did with mine feels significantly different, but isn't too noticeable just by looking. My biggest complaint before was that it constantly felt like I was sliding toward the tank, which was putting a fair amount of pressure on my hands and wrists trying to counter the forward-sliding effect. Now it feels like there's a special little happy place for my bum, no creeping-forward, no extra pressure on my hands. It completely changed the ride for me in the way I hoped it would. The real test will be to head out for a huge trip. I can't wait!!

question about the gators tho, are they the same ones sold by samurider?

thx and keep em coming!
They're actually Kawasaki OEM gators:
Kaw Part Numbers: 49006-1335 (boots) x 2

I got the idea from a post that Ferret did about installing gators on his CB. They fit perfectly, and are good quality rubber. Search on "Kawasaki gators" and Ferret's post with pictures and install instructions will come up. I followed it to the letter and it worked beautifully. My Bonneville (bike before the CB) had gators, and when I bought the CB the lack of gators was the most glaring omission that Honda made. I couldn't believe the bike didn't come with them stock Smile

Those little rubber accordion-like tubes that fit around the upper part of the forks. "Gators" probably isn't the right spelling... maybe "gaiters" makes more sense. Or fork bellows, or fork dust covers... sorry for the confusion...I'm definitely not advocating installing ferocious reptiles on one's motorcycle Smile
