Staintune Comparison
#1

I've noticed numerous new threads lately tied to after market exhaust systems. When I first joined the forum after purchasing my 2013, the first thing I noticed was a video comparing the Staintune muffler to the stock one. I immediately contacted Pirate's Lair, purchased one, and installed it on my bike before the 600 mile service. Now I have 11,000 miles on my bike and the Staintune is still in perfect condition with no discoloring, no performance issues, no problems at all. I believe the large number of folks on this forum that own a Staintune will agree it's a high quality product and well worth the price.

For the many new members on the forum wondering which after market muffler to purchase, check out this very well produced video by Bill Shriever comparing the stock muffler to the Staintune. I haven't seen this video on the forum for quite some time so I tracked it down and posted it here. Enjoy. . .

I'm more than happy with my Staintune. Thanks for reminding me.

Cheers

Love my Staintune, not only it is well made but it has the right amount of sound level for me. Wish they made a four into one header for it................Sad

I've spent the last hour or two looking around at the different cans for this bike, and I think it's clear that Staintune has won my heart. Nothing else even really comes close. (But as is often the case, the one I like is also one of the most expensive). Of course it is!

So we can buy these things direct from Australia? Australia??! That'll be a first for me.
It'll also be the first mod for this thing, and I confident it's a good one. The stock sound just isn't bringing home the bacon for me.

Well, I just need something "safer". Loud exhaust is good, right? Just keep telling myself that, and the $800 price tag wont sting so much.

Loud exhaust is safe exhaust.

Mate, don't cry. AUD800? At the current exchange rate that's about USD586. So the sting might bleed a little, but it won't kill you.

Also the Staintune is not (Harley) loud. Louder than OEM yes, but more throaty would be a better description.

Cheers, and great choice of can.

Actually you would order from a company named Pirates Lair based somewhere near you (North Carolina or Virginia).

Definitely not looking for Harley-loud (aka, obnoxiously-loud). Some of those numbskulls really take it overboard.

The pipe from Arrow is nice too, but Staintune just hits the mark perfectly (and Youtube has been quite helpful as well).

So let it be written, so let it be done!
I appreciate the Pirate's Lair info. Thanks fellas.

Pirates Lair. Aptly named. If I had payed AUD1,130 for my Staintune, Darling would probably now be using my guts for garters.

Cheers
