Michelin Pilot Road 3s...I joined the club

Yes they just used some tire “snot” glue problem solved in two minutes. I’m on my 2nd set of Michelin P’s. Like.

I only have 5,700 miles on the stock set of tires but they look pretty worn and I think I am going to replace them with the BT45 radials. Chapmoto.com has a pair for $272 including tax and free delivery.

This looks like a good deal and the BT45's have good reviews, but now I am thinking the Michelin Pilot Road 3s may be the way to go. The Michelin tires are a good bit more expensive. Is it worth the additional cost?

Just an FYI, the BT-45s are not radials. They're bias ply tires.

I use them on my CB750 and am on my third set. I think they are good all around performers and I always get excellent mileage out of them. If the PR3 were not available, I'd go with the BT-45s on the CB1100 as well.

I think Cormanus has used the BT-45 on his CB1100. Perhaps he'll chime in.

I thought the BT45s were fine, although I abandoned them for PR3s. I’d use them again. I think Tezza also has a set, so he may add to this.

Had no trouble mounting the 120 PR3 on my bike but dealer tech had a hard time mounting same on my wife's CB1100. After at least two hours struggling with it, he dismounted the tire completely and cleaned the inside of the rim where the bead sits with steel wool. There was a build up of what appeared to be rubber crud and after the cleaning the tire seated without any trouble.

Local Honda dealer couldn't mount PR3's. Local Yamasaki dealer had them mounted in no time, no sweat. Not sure why or how, just paid the man and left.

LikeAFox, what would you put on the rear?

By the way, I was just looking at the Michelin US site and it suggests the PR3s are available in 110/80/18 for the front and 160/70/18 for the rear. https://motorcycle.michelinman.com/motor...lot-road-3

Thanks Flynn, they come in bias ply and radial. I choose the radial. I think I made the right choice since I couldn't find the Michelin PR3's for sale anywhere.
