Thanks Cormanus! I used the power of my CB1100 Forum secret decoder ring on you. Did you feel the power? Smile

I own both bikes. The CBR's upper cowl is connected to the triangular piece that holds the speedometer by only rubber grommets. Most of the support comes from tabs from the side cowls. So that's one challenge.

The piece that holds the speedometer is connected to the bike via two drilled/tapped holes on a flange cast into the headstock/frame, which the CB1100 does not have. Some sort of bracket would have to be fabricated, but I'm not sure how stable that would be. That's a second challenge.

Good luck!

I was thinking:
CBR1000rr front end
Motogadget tacho with built in speedometer in black
Motogadget turn signals, grips and bar end mirrors
Ohlins rear shocks
Single seat with some kind of cowl
Fix tank and paint Dodge Destroyer grey to match my car
Rear sets with no pillion pegs
Remove center stand
Exhaust is a problem. I was thinking Arrow system wrapped in black heat wrap and some other brand of slip on.
New aluminum swing arm and max out the wheel/tire width.
Ditch the very stylish rear fender in favor of nothing.
Some kind of minimalist tail light.
Not sure whether to do clip ons or renthall flat bars.

Probably forgotten something and all subject to change on a whim.

I figured out the the 2012 thru current CBR1000rr front end won't fit as it has taper roller head bearings and the CB has the ball race bearings. So, I bought a cheap triple tree off a 2011 CBR for $40 to test fit before buying the whole front end....stay tuned.

So, a bit of a change in direction. I have been working with Cognito Moto and they have used some measurements and photos that I took to create a GSXR front end swap kit for our bikes! They do amazing work and it's not crazy expensive either. So I am going to fit a black 2017 GSXR1000 front end with the Brembo brakes. That should look sick. They even have custom billet or retro trees in both polished and black anodized as well as a custom steel cafe front fender for the Gixer.

I will post pics as soon as I get the Gixer front end sorted and fitted. The CB is minus a front end and up on a lift at the moment.

I still can't decide between clips ons and conventional bars.....
