Engine guards

Hi everyone.
I am considering to install a set of engine guards to my CB. I never dropped a bike in my life, but I've seen some CB with scratches on the left side of the engine, so I thought it would be better to prevent a similar damage.
I was wondering if any of you who installed one can provide some hints. I prefer the smaller ones (Fehling, Hepco Becker, and similar), and the genuine Honda is the one that, form the pictures, I like most.
But I'd like to hear form someone who installed them and (ops…) tested them if they really protect the engine.

I really like the stainless steel Over engine protectors from Samurider , in my opinion more protective than the Honda ones.

I used the SW-Motech crash bars on my 2014 Std. I actually did drop the bike twice -- once on each side, but at low speed: once leaving my driveway when surprised by a passing car, and once in my garage when I didn't fully engage the kickstand. No damage at all to engine or rest of bike in either occurrence, but I broke my foot in the garage when I got entangled under the falling bike...

I have Honda OEM, which saved my '13 from any scratch....due to good job, I transferred them over to my present, '14 model.
Few others are good too.

I have the SW Motech, and am very pleased with them. I think that engine guards regardless of brand ( assuming they are well made ) is a good investment. On the one hand, the guards will drastically ( in my experience ) reduce damage to the bike if it goes down. On the other hand, if you are on the bike when it goes down, it will be easier for you to get out from under it.

When I bough mine, one of the things I looked at was how various guards mounted to the bike. Back in the day, I had guards on my CB750 Four. Those guards bolted on at two points. One light low speed drop did its job, but the guard was bent backwards, making it un-usable from the on. The SW Motech, as well as some others, mount at three points to the bike. I use Fehling ones. Like them and they did the CB some good since I've mounted them. Nice side effect, you can mount highway pegs on them. Something I like. Or extra lights, which I don't like.
