Boots, Pants, and Airbag Vest
#1

I am having trouble seperating truth from marketing pablum as it relates to motorcycle clothing. Specifically, I want to augment my very nice Sedici Jacket (CE Armor Level 2) with equally good pants, boots, and an airbag vest. Please see my short list of products I am considering purchasing:

Boots: https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpi...nted-shoes

Airbag Vest: https://www.cyclegear.com/gear/alpinesta...r-3-system

Pants: https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/klim...ty-2-jeans

If you have any experience with these items, please share. If you have other boots, pants, or an airbag vest you would recommend, please advise.

Have a great weekend. Thanks. David

I don't know what brands you get in the US but this recent YouTube on Airbag vests was very interesting. http://youtu.be/C0219r4QPLs?si=OBddM686A0QMBppi

The only thing I would say about buying gear is that trying it on is essential for good fit rather than mail order. I tried on about five different pairs of armoured jeans for the summer, all the same size, only one fitted me correctly and comfortably. I'm embarrassed to say how many pairs of mail order gloves I have that are a very poor fit too :-0

Most gear is definitely try it before you buy it. I can usually get away with mail order jackets, but pants and gloves are a different story.

I have a great little local shop, Discount Moto Gear in Irvine where I can try on gear and know what I’m getting. Hopefully you can find something near you like a Cycle Gear maybe?

There is a Cycle Gear shop close by where I purchased my jacket. Nice folks who are knowledgeable. Although they can source everything on my list, they have nothing in stock. They told me they can send it back or keep it in inventory and are willing to order everything, but I was hoping to get a little more info before I asked them to arrange for an order. Thanks for the coaching, Gone. I will follow your good advice and quit worrying about Cycle Gear’s balance sheet and inventory expenses! David

Thank you, Tev62! I love engineering analysis of options. If you have other videos tucked away that can help me protect myself on the motorcycle, I would be delighted if you forwarded them. Good night. David
