Just listening to NPR. A guy in Nebraska had his 1953 Triumph Tiger stolen in 1957. It was just found in a shipping container on the west coast about to be shipped to Japan. It was found by an FBI agent investigating vehicle theft and export. He ran the numbers which showed it was stolen, called the police department in Nebraska that filed the report. They still had the report on file and contacted the owner who is now in his 70's and still rides. He is excited to get his bike back

Those rotten N*p*! Making off with our Brit bikes fifty years after the crime.
At some point a paper record of the theft must have been put on computer. Amazing the record wasn't purged decades ago.

Apparently the word "N*p*" in my post above offended some people. I regret that; frankly I had no idea it is considered a slur. I apologize to anyone who was offended. Some of you PM'd me about it were polite and reasonable. One of you was not. The apology doesn't include you.

I'm of German/Welsh heritage... But I don't personally take offense at derogatory names for those groups. There are some things you could call me that would offend me, but they have nothing to do with my heritage. I am old enough that as a kid we pretty much lived in segregated neighborhoods. Lots of name calling, but lots of friends in different heritage groups.
To be safe its just better not to mention things like heritage, along with race , political persuasion, sexual proclivity, or a fondness for Harley Davidsons or BMWs...hey I jest! Lol

I am from Holland and have been called different names but could not care less !!!
Too old to worrie about that, just happy to be alive after drinking all that Heineken,I will donate my liver to their museum after I die.
When I was growing up in Holland in the sixties I made that company a lot of money and they should let me drink for free for the rest of my life.
(I NEVER did or do drink when I ride my motorcycle)

Those are your groups and if you do not take offense that is your pleasure. I would not assume that everyone in your group would be so generous. But when another person uses a derogatory appellation for your group they are giving offense and at the time of the giving, have no idea if the receiving person has such liberal feelings. That is why it may be offensive and rude, or just perhaps a thoughtless moment, the result is the same.
When we post on this forum, our writings go out to the entire world. Though many of us post with an anonymous handle, I would not want to be associated with a forum that would tolerate such usage.
The OP has apologized. That should suffice.
