On this mornings ride I turned over 50K miles on my ST

that means in the last 6 years, since I started keeping track, I have logged 88,207 miles.
Imagine what the total would be if I had started keeping track on May 18, 1966 when I started (legally) street riding. Or in Oct 1977 when my wife and I started touring in earnest on a Kawasaki KZ 1000B with Vetter Fairing and bags (but our first trip together was to the Great Smoky Mt's N.P. in 1973 on an RD 350 Yamaha.) What a ride it has been!

Congrats on the milestone, Mickey. While you may not have the total written down, you really have been "keeping track" of your motorcycle mileage all along and I thank you for sharing some of those miles with us in your posts here. Keep the odo spinning.

Oh, the things we do in our youth. Would you head off on a trip like that today, on an RD350?

Excuse me for getting off subject a little but I'm curious about valve clearance inspection on your ST. How often have you checked clearances and have you had to change any shims?
I bring this up because it seems that the shim under bucket system rarely needs adjustment. I know that some fellows on the Triumph Tiger 1050 forum had gone far beyond 50K without needing to change shims.

I miss the dashboard, and the mileage per tank. I had 34K when i sold my 2008 a few months ago.
