Thanks for the warm reception for my non-CB related post! I'm glad you enjoyed it and that it brought some diversion to those of you suffering through some harsh weather. It was fun to write!

MG, what a nice ride and great report. Especially compared to my 45 degree blast yesterday. I have a Speed Triple stashed out in Montrose, perhaps we can connect and ride on one of my visits out there.

I meant to reply to this earlier. That would be great to get together for a ride when you make it out to California. I didn't realize that part of L.A. was called Montrose (I looked it up). Amazing roads there! Wise man to have a Speed Triple parked and waiting for you. A few years back I rode with a group through Malibu Canyon on a ZX6R to the Rock Store. And just a few weeks back I rode the Angeles Crest Highway to Newcomb's Ranch with my wife on the CB. Both rides were amazing. I would love to experience more of them.

As far as our nice weather, it's gone. At least for a few days. A big storm is about to hit us and is expected to last into the weekend. Where I'm at, that means rain and awful drivers. But in certain parts of the valleys and mountains, we're expecting flash floods and mud slides in areas where we've had fires (and we've had plenty). We've been in a severe drought for several years now so the rain is much needed. But when it comes all it once, we're ill-equipped to handle it. Should be interesting.

I'd be up for an Angeles Crest/Malibu Ride. I'm just below Montrose in Glendale, this is a great area for riding.

Keep the rain coming, I was just up in Sonora for Thanksgiving. New Melones Reservoir, I was told the 2nd largest reservoir in California, is drained... People need to take this drought much more serious. I don't have a car but I have plenty of goretex, I'll take it.

Looks like a CA2 ride up and over to Acton or Wrightswood with a stop at Newcombe's is in order! My bike is stashed right by Pro Italia. I hope to be back out in January, and will ping you. As for the rain, it's worth putting up with the hassle if it helps solve that drought.

I know it snows up on CA2, but I don't know how far up or what the conditions are like up there most of the winter. I've yet to ride past Newcombe's, but I've been wanting to. Would be fun to get some of the LA people together.

A nice route is up to Newcombe's then back down a bit, turn on 'nine mile' to Tujunga Canyon, and if it's clear, up and over to Acton, and back. A couple hundred turns! Nothing like New Jersey!

Sounds great. I'm in. Hopefully, I can make a weekend of it. It takes me about two and a half hours to get there from San Diego. I'd like to ride up the night before, ride in the morning, then stay a second night before making the trip back south. The question will be, VFR or CB? I know, I know...first world problems.
