MTC's purchase of his second CB1100 piqued my curiosity. Have you owned the same model motorcycle on two different occasions?
I have, five times:
2 K75's
2 SV650's
2 F800ST's
2 V7 Classic's
2 CB750's (both SOHC but 8 model years apart)
Anyone else?

3 Harley Panheads ( 49, 56, 57)
2 Harley Sporsters ( 59, 94)
3 Yamaha TX/XS 650 Yamaha's ( 73,79,81)
2 Yamaha FZ-1's (01 and 04)
2 Yamaha Magestys (06, 09)
2 CB1100s (13 and 14)
Thinking about a second ST1300 since they no longer make them

Two Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Zs. Traded the 2012 in on a 2014 because they added electronic cruise control that year. Have also owned three Honda Hawk GT 650s, but they were all bought used.

Ummm... I bought a couple of Schwinn Stingrays
What can I say, I've only ever purchased two motorcycles in total. Rarely have I ever felt so left out of a conversation around here, lol.

Buying the same bike twice seems a bit like remarrying your ex-wife. Life is short and there are so many cool bikes to ride!

I think I would find it hard to repeat, there's so many cool bikes out there both used and new.

1980 CBX new, then a 1979 CBX 15 years later - The '80 was better
2 Benelli 750 Sei - The first was better
2 2002-2003 Moto Guzzi Le Mans - What a fool I was.
2 2004 Moto Guzzi Cafe Sport - Ditto above. No more Guzzis - ever.
Ducati 750GT and 860GT - the first was better by far
4 2001-2009 Triumph Bonnevilles, finally settling on my 2004. - I like the carbs better than FI.
3 650 V-Stroms - The earlier version was better in many small ways. When I wear this latest one out, I'll hunt for a low mileage pre-2012.
The earlier one was always better, whether in my mind or in reality.
