I just saw that today too. Liquid cooled one of the biggest differences.

And plastic. Lots of negative comments on styling but it's not nearly as bad as an FZ-09.

They're all right, I reckon. They were on my list if I couldn't have a CB.

Fortunately, I didn't have to compromise.

No qualms at all about the Bandits performance numbers. In the article it's described as one of the last "UJM's". Not sure I agree with that. Would take a lot more than a straight 4 and 4 into 1 exhaust to qualify for that moniker. It would have to look a lot more like the CB right out the gate to even come close.....meaning dropping the mono shock for a rear twin set-up, hump backed tank, raised dual step seat etc. to say nothing of the fairing. Then there's the issue of the styling in general.
![]() It may just be me but the Bandits styling was eclipsed as far back as 1984 by Honda with this. ![]() Of course, all of this is a matter of taste and as we all know there's no accounting for it. The Bandits strong suit appears to be the low entry price to play with it's 1250cc mill. If I didn't have the CB sitting in my garage bay I might be interested enough to go look at the Suzuki. Since I do I'm not.

First gen Interceptor = way ahead of its time.

You could not put less design thought into that exhaust can if you tried hard. Only 100 hp from a water cooled engine. Dog.
I always wanted an interceptor, but graduate school, the military and then overseas work. Maybe I should look for a clean one. It still looks good to me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Very under rated motorcycle. Decent handling, super torquey, great power up to maybe 8000 rpm then bikes like the first FZ1 would own it. Now lots of bikes would own it down to 900ccs. Would slay a CB 1100 in roll ons. Great price, comes with ABS. Even has an adjustable seat. When it was first introduced it's competition was too strong. Never did sell well. Heck of a buy though. At one time they were selling left over Bandit 1200s for $ 6995.
