A member of the Ridersforum.com was having comfort issues with his new Ninga 1000. Rock ( Anthony ) lives 30 miles from me and I decided to PM him for a meet up. Last week I had my bike flashed by Ivans of Rockland County which by the way is the real deal, Ivan took 3 months of dyno and seat time to get it right.
Rock's bike is stock, his legs where getting numb after riding 50 miles. We met up for a days ride. i switched with him and let him enjoy me upgrades which include a custom seat, bar risers, aftermarket shield, flash and Michelin PP3's ( the stock tires are horrible) BTW this is rock's 2nd time around with the N1K, he bought a BMW and Ducati now back to the N1K in a matter of 2 years.
He got off with a big smile on his face wishing he knew the first time around how much more comfortable the N1K was with the upgrades. They are two different bikes, comfort & performance.
Moral of the story, He is sending his seat out to Seth to be done and I offered him my spare modified seat for the 3 week period his is being crafted. Rock has been a member of different forums as has never received this quick of a response. I have to admit I have not either until being a member of this forum, must be the age and quality of membership.

It's so nice and refreshing when forum members help each other rather than snipe at each other all the time. This forum has been great with lots of support and encouragement from fellow members. Good people here. It's really not that hard to get along. Be honest, show respect, disagree but do not be disagreeable, give support and encouragement. It's how human beings SHOULD treat each other.
I am a member of the ST-Owners.com forum and it too has a similar vibe. However I have been a member of other forums that aren't like that and are just not pleasant to visit, so I no longer visit them.
Looking forward to meeting you at the rally.

My forum experiences have been limited in the past, till I joined this one. This forum is more like a family than any other that I have experienced.

That was the best forum I've been part of, hands down.
I've never seen members gather funds for funerals or hospital bills before. Many, for people who never met.
A member map, so if ya went down (bike and/or rider) members could be counted on, reliably.
Parts freely given to help other members get their bikes back on the road. Remember, the last civilian Shovels were last made in '84. The bikes are old.
I remember when I had to put my dog down, I got PM's from many members, a lot of whom I had never even talked to before.
I've been on quite a few forums over the years. None compare.
I just want to find one that comes close now that I moved on from Harley Davidson motorcycles.

I've joined a few forums in the past... a Harley one, KLR, Adventure Riders, and a Mercedes one and could never really get into any of them like this one. This is the only one I keep coming back to. Maybe it's because of the bike, but probably more because of the people that frequent this place. I only wish I had more time to ride and to participate more with this group. Ahh retirement... someday.

This forum is better than most I've been part of. Most other forums seem to turn into a small group of "cool kids" who dominate discussion with inside jokes and conversations, or degenerate into general snarkiness that seems so prevalent on the Internet -- I actually deleted my account on our local sport bike forum yesterday because I was so sick of this.
This one is actually welcoming and functions like a community you would want to be a part of.

Very true. That's the reason that Cormanus and I went to last years rally. We had to meet some of the blokes who make this community what it is. We were not disappointed. Good blokes all. Of course, like all communities, it is not always smooth sailing, but the level of understanding, and discipline, amongst this group is outstanding. You should make as many inside jokes as you please. Just take the time to explain them to the rest of us. Who knows? Some of us may have a sense of humor you might enjoy sharing add well. That said, other than a sandcarving forum I used to be part of this is the most informative and supportive I have joined.
