Ferret,

I watched this whole video and never really heard the bike at all. Thanks for the buggy ride! How did you hear the sound?

Teamwalker... when you get thru that video it should show a block of videos. In the upper left hand corner video it says something about first ride and sound. if you click on that you hear the bike. Funny thing is when you copy the url of the one with sound it gives you the link I provided for some reason. so apparently I can't link you directly to the sound video but if you start the link I provided and come back when it's over (about 3 mins) you can then click on the ride and sound video.

sorry about that.

Just came back from the Triumph dealer. The Street Twin sounds even better in person.

Just came back from the Triumph dealer again. Rode his Street Twin demo as a possible replacement for my F800ST. No. Seems like it could be fun for cruising the boulevard, if that floats your boat. The Beemer is a lot more motorcycle IMO.

So, not for you, LR?

Not at first blush. It didn't ride as "substantial" as I had hoped. It's a small bike but I'm not a small guy, so it's a bit of an ergonomic mismatch. Responsive, torquey engine, however, with a slick gearbox and a hooligan (to me) exhaust note. Very nicely packaged and a first-rate finish, like our CB's, but strangely, I felt a little disconnected from the bike, perhaps due to the ride-by-wire throttle (it could have been in my head). That being said, I do think Triumph will sell boatloads of them.

I've never owned or even ridden a Triumph thus no baseline for comparison. But if I could afford a second bike I would mind it being a Street Twin.
