#1
my son has the hots for one and the local dealer just took a trade with 2300 miles on it. I have a couple of Q;s if someone on this board has one. (I think I remember reading someone does)

Can't answer your questions but a friend is waiting delivery on one so this thread should be interesting.

The_undecider talked a lot about getting one, and I thought I recalled a member with both a CB and an FJ-09, but I can't find him—it was a him.

I have friends who got em (not local) we all had modified fz-1s back in the day

Another has the the fj-09 which is the same engine but is more sports touring orientated

Plus I know some waiting on the xsr900 which is a classic/retro looking version of the fz09

I prefer the looks of the cb1100 but the xsr looks very nice.. Nice blend of classic looks with more modern engineering

Yamaha's build quality is close if not on par with Honda these days.. With the engine being in multiple lines at a time, I would think any of the 3 is a safe bet

I remember early examples were said to have cam chain tensioner problems. I would hope that Yamaha has corrected that.

Well I have heard they are on their third iteration of that and it may still be an issue although the dealership has sold maybe 1/2 doz and so far only one has come back for that, and it was the naked version.

Also I dont think the FI is as clean as it could be, but the last one I rode last summer ran pretty well.
