If I recall (and I'm probably wrong), the 919 and 599 were both made in Italy, right? Due to the weak US dollar at the time, I seem to recall they were relatively expensive when they were brought here. At least that's what I remember from the magazine reviews.

I'm in a similar position now. I want more power than my 750 Nighthawk and have been looking at the CB1100 and the CB919. I don't need a whole lot more power and think the 1100 is probably the better choice because of it's extra weight (540 pounds vs 427 pounds), which should make it more stable on the highway. But now, someone above has brought the Yamaha FZ1 into the discussion.

Cant confirm 919 but I have 599 and it was made in Italy. Great bike too!
