Old topic I know but am looking at one of these one year wonders in the next week or so.
What are the things we need to know about her imperfections?
Thank you for any info,,,

I have a black non deluxe ctx and I really like it. Like someone else said, right out of the box it's not perfect. But I've been riding for 48 years and have not found the perfect motorcycle. Add a taller windshield and luggage rack and I think Its a all around great motorcycle. The drivetrain is bulletproof used on the st 1300 for years. They detuned it a little but it will set on 80 to 85 mph all day long with no problem. I usually average between 42 and 45 mpg. So about 200 miles per tank is not unrealistic. If you go to the ctx forum a member there just returned from a 7000 mile trouble free road trip out west. I have no regrets buying the ctx 1300. I love my 2014 CB1100 Deluxe and my 2014 CTX1300. With that said I have a garage kept, pampered, low mileage 2012 Harley Road King for sale. Great bike but the kulunky transmission and rocker rattle that is a harley trait. Has rubbed me the wrong way.

Thank you for any info,,, I feel very confident that the imperfections that people refer to are not mechanical. Some owners have complained that the ride is harsh sometimes when you hit a bump. I have found that setting the rear shocks on 3 instead of the factory setting of 1 makes a drastic improvement in ride quality. In other words all the referred to imperfections are more or less Rider preference not mechanical and can be corrected or drastically improved. I have taken my CTX 1300 on two different Route 66 road trips and I'm leaving Tuesday morning with my oldest son to ride the Blue Ridge Pkwy taking the CTX. ( Luggage rack I ordered for the the CB1100 has not yet arrived)

Im pretty sure that when I bought mine with 0 miles 15 months ago the place in cedarburg,Wi is one of the places I talked to. I think they had a lot of added fees after they get you on the phone. FYI Glenn Bernie Motorsports has a good selection of brand new CTX1300's. $7982.00 out the door. There number is 443-627-1836. It's such a great price for a brand new bike I was seriously considering buying another one. My wife was not happy with the idea.

i am gtmn on the ctx forum as well if you want to read some
this was my bike on sale for less then he gave me on trade
it has redone seat by sargent, tob box fronm honda and tall and short screen
also has Traxxion Dynamics ak-20s in the front and progressive 444 shocks in the rear
the bike has great power and tons of torque nothing to be afraid of and it rips, just not up to 10k
the suspension from the factory was crap and alot of guys are starting to go with the traxxion kits to fix the bike
if you are a big guy you will need suspension help. my opinion
great bike 2 up and my wife really enjoyed the ride
the reason honda didnt sell them was because of the fact that american men cant here the word detuned, for some reason they run the other way
for the money you cant beat the bike and the honda name. but ride one first

Good night, that is a lot of bike for so little money. As far as the ST crowd is concerned, the ST didn't need detuning, but then, the CTX is not a sport tourer like the ST, it is a cruiser so it didn't need full ST power.

It's such a shame Honda is no longer making the ST1300. Its a great bike for the job it does.

the Cedarburg dealer has 5 CTX 1300s. On the phone he said $7400 cash plus WI sales tax, title fee, and plate transfer. No other fees.

i have been to his dealer
he seems to be on the up and up
he bought a bunch from other dealers
i think what i was told was honda had 3000 in rebates to consumer and gave the dealers 3000 in credit to sell them thats why they are so low
the bike just wasnt worth 15k when they came out and the f6b was very close in price
most guys went up to the f6b

Thanks for the info on the Appleton WI dealer. I am going to call them Friday and see if they can beat $7400 out the door.
I emailed the Cedarburg dealer some pics of my old Shadow Tourer. They offered me $200 less than what I paid for it to trade it in. I have had at least $200 worth of fun on it!
