HB top box on Bonnie
#1
Here's the Hepco Becker Journey 42 Top Case on the HB Bonneville rear rack on my Bonneville. The Bonneville rear rack is obviously different from the rear rack available for the CB1100, but the top box is the same. The top box is a little larger than I wanted, but was the smallest size that was lockable to the rear rack without a separate adapter plate. The bike looks nice when I remove the top box.
My father painted the insert to match the bike with a Dupli-Color rattle-can paint. I haven't decided if I want to buff the insert to shine it up a bit.

Your dad did a nice job on the case. Rear sets on your Bonnie?

Yeah, my dad is justifiably proud of the paint job. I got the rear sets because I am short and although I can just flatfoot the bike, my ankles kept getting tangled in the pegs when I tried to walk the bike around. (The OEM pegs are just a bit too far forward.) I didn't have that problem when I sat on the CB1100 but the CB was too tall.

Not to take away from the posting, but why - *Why?* - can't hard luggage for bikes like the Bonnie, CB1100, and many other UJM look-alikes be fashioned to blend better with the bike? The top box tends to be particularly difficult.

Harley does it exceptionally well. And then there are the "crates" BMW/AdvRiders tend to like. But the street standards never seem to look quite right.

Strangely, I think some sport bikes look okay with a top box. In some cases, it appears the top box is "following" the bike like a kid's balloon.

With all these "likes" for the boogie look, I am startin' to feel pretty good since I have the same. Still, in terms of fashion Undecided, there is still room for improvement!

I got one for functional reasons. I'm somewhat ambivalent about the looks, but having the storage capacity is great. The nice part about the HB case is that it can be removed in about 10 seconds when it's not needed.
