VLJ, no leaks in the car wash. I drove it home from the dealer, on the interstate, in one of the worst downpours I’ve ever seen and it also did not leak.
Mscb: Yes, it’s near Ryland Heights CC in NKY:

VLJ - Glad you found a good thrill ride! My first car - a '68 Pontiac Firebird convertible - is pretty much permanently etched in my mind. Hope you make some great memories in the Miata!

It rained the day after I bought my 2003 Miata (MX-5) Shinsen Version.
Not a drop leaked, nor when I hosed it off at the coin-op hand held wand type car wash. However, some water dripped from edge of roof on seat when roof very wet and door opened.
If you take it on highway 23, which is Westlake Blvd/Decker Canyon Road, to the beach, some of those tight turns will feel like the MX-5 is on rails.
If I remember correctly, Decker Canyon was the chase scene (1965 Lincoln Continential vs 1955 Porsche 356A) in the 1966 Paul Newman movie, "Harper".

My smokin' hot 6th-grade teacher drove one of those, and both are pretty much permanently etched in my mind!

VLJ - Congratulations on the Miata. If I ever give up the motorcycles, a Miata will probably fill the void in the garage.
Guth - My oldest son had a blueish silver 2005 S2000 and I still regret not buying it when he sold it after a few years. If it had been white, like yours, I would probably found a way to justify it since that was my favorite color for the S2000.
I have actually only owned one convertible. My first car was this '65 MGB I bought in 1969.
BTW - Still married to the "hood ornament".

The paint and top really faded in the Texas sun I guess? Only four years old but looks like it's going on ten in that pic.
Great photo of your bride-to-be!

For quite a few months I had been looking for an early seventies MGB GT but after thinking if I would be keen to "restore" a car like that and talking to my wife , we have decided to get a 2021 Mini Country Man .
Old cars are like old bikes : great to look at but not always practical to own.

My "money-and-patience-and-knowledge-and-skill" "no object" dream car:
1956 Austin-Healey 100-4 BN2 roadster. Tell me that wouldn't literally blow your hair back!

Technically Oklahoma sun. Fun car, but definitely not a great car.

Congrats on the Miata! As a former S2000 owner myself, I've always had a soft spot for the Miata.
I too highly recommend the Shin-etsu grease and Raggtopp convertible top cleaner and treatment. I had my S2000 for 12 years and the top still beaded up when I washed it. The right care and your top will be in pristine shape for years to come. I also used leatherique on the seats.
I had a New Formula Red AP2 model, purchased brand new in Jan 2004 with 3 miles on the odometer. After I started riding motorcycles, I drove the S2000 less and less, and eventually traded it in on a Tacoma. But I will always love that car! And yes, I do miss it.
