But, this is all still in the "what if" stage.
Could always say, " ... hey hun! We should be so lucky to sit on a Cub. The folks in Canada don't have these ... ".
Could be a cincher line.

I don't think telling her you can't buy one in Canada would make a complelling argument.

I mentioned in another post that yesterday morning, I was about to head to work on the CB when weather looked iffy, and the wife reminded me to take the cat to the vet.
I hastily pushed the CB into the garage behind my wife's car, wrestled the cat into his carrier, and headed to the vet in my car. Mid-day, the vet called to say he was ready, and my wife called me to say "Your motorcycle is blocking my car!"
Ever see the movie Apollo 13? The part where the guys in Mission Control are talking the astronauts through the process of building the thing that will save their lives? I had to talk my wife through lifting the CB off of the side stand, and rolling it about five feet so she could get her car out. "Oh my gosh, it's so heavy! I can't believe it! I'm so worried that I'll drop your baby!"
I explained to her that any bike we'd consider for her would be a lot lighter than the CB, but there is a crack in the dam...
I don't think it's necessarily a crack in the dam. "Oh my gosh, it's so heavy! I can't believe it! I'm so worried that I'll drop your baby!" could just be a very sweet way of saying "Next time, move it yourself" and maybe didn't affect her motorcycling aspirations at all......maybe.

One can hope. I think it was absolute fear of potentially damaging the bike.
If this goes anywhere, I'd love to get her an old beater to start with. I'd drop it in the garage before she even got on it, and would then say "Ok, we've gotten that out of the way."

Oh completely true. The motive was to make it feel "rare" and "special".
Nevertheless, there are probably tens of thousands in the greater LA area alone.
Hmm, you might yet find that "scratch 'n' dent" at a discount.

Only one used Cub listed in the area now, but I'll keep my eyes open. I've already built it up as rare and special to her. All she knows is that it looks cute.

Well, maybe need to tease in the riding fashion: Boots (booo-ooo-tsss), gloves, jackets?
Will it be AGATT?
Or sumthin' more chilled?

This bike is and was being advertised on Denver Craigslist. I think it's a scam. Good luck!

Sorry, had to stop staring at the..... scooter. Yes, very nice scooter.
My wife’s way too pragmatic to buy clothing for a hobby before she actually engages in it. But, more positive talk today. We went to the coast for a Valentines Day picnic and hike. Plenty of Harleys and sports cars puffing out their chests along Pacific Coast Highway. She pointed out a Ural and said “Ooh look, a sidecar!”
I suggested that maybe we should get a bike with a sidecar, and she declined, saying that if anything, she’d want one of those blue and red Cubs I had showed her.
... but not just yet.
About the ‘13, I dunno, Frank. That listing shows the location as the same San Diego dealership. Most likely they are just listing it in nearby states figuring that it’s rare enough that someone would make the trip for it or have it shipped.
I haven’t had a reason to get to downtown San Diego recently or I would have checked it out by now.
