It’s an option if the CB1100 gets too heavy and unwieldy.
Is the CB1100 planning to put on some weight?

I'm not sure the CB1100 is planning anything much, GO. As for weight, it doesn't seem to matter what I feed it, it just gets heavier.

My CB1100 is getting heavier. It seems that every time I go out on it, the loaded weight is just a tiny bit more. Yet it seems no harder to put up on the center stand. Must be global warming.

Shapes and proportions I can identify - familiar, nicely shaped gas tank, flat seat, round gauges, a side panel on either side, muffler that looked like a muffler.
My subsequent CB300F and 650 V-Stroms were not eye-pleasing, just not offensive looking, and their purchases were based on practical considerations. There are pieces and panels that I can not explain what they do, why they are shaped like that.
The new 750 is in pretty much the same category - bland and inoffensive looking. If not for the wing logo on the side, it could have been a Kawasaki or Suzuki or Benelli or a Zongshu or Runpet Sport.
I can't imagine how potential younger buyers can look at it and say "WOW". I'd own one, but I can't get excited about it. Kind of how I look at any Prius, perhaps.
+1 with one execption, I own a Prius 4 and like to drive and look at this car. It's a very special car with an extraordinary design. I see motorcycles and cars differently. Whereas I like classic retro style streetmotorbikes more than any other one, cars don't have to fit into this category and can be for example 'space invaders' like the P4.
The new Hornet is not my case.

I like the Hornet's lump, maybe a few fancy elecro-features. That is about it.

Good grief! Do they really see this type of person as their target market? Once they find out it had a smelly combustion engine, they will choke on their seaweed salad.

I'm 100% for this motor, but i'm having a really hard time digesting their implementation of it. Looks to be about 5 years behind in the styling department. It fails to compete with the MT07 right off the bat from what I can see, and is likely to be more expensive. Heck, it fails to compete with the venerable GSX-750. I'd rather have the CB650r over this any day of the week.

Lessee here... the bike's styling is retro circa 2012... the presentation style of the video is retro circa 1991.
I've only been in marketing for about 20 years or so, but there is a phrase we use called "failing to create a cohesive branding message."
Actually, I take that back. The messaging is brilliant. If they are targeting 20-somethings, 1991 is retro. So the video is targeted directly to them.
The style of the bike is still 2012. Not sure who would find that attractive, besides someone who is shopping a used CB500F and decides that they can come up with the scratch to buy a new bike.

One thing that always fails to amaze me, is any advertising from any type of business whatsoever when they fail to let me know what it is they are selling me.
You would be amazed at how many commercial vehicles I see driving down the road and I have no idea who or what they are, either from lack of information or something as simple as they picked an illegible font.

So, it's not a commercial for jeans, then, right.
Body wash maybe?
Or bubbly flavored water, that's it!

You guys need to get with the program. Morning briefings at the rally looked just like this video. You should have seen InhouseBob, A-Man and RickCB doing their little break dance before each ride! Mr. P performed the rap because he was the only one cool enough to pull that off.
