Thinking I'm gonna trade my 15 CBR300R in on one of these. My buddy is getting a 07 in at his dealership. I've been bitten by the dirt bug and spend a lot of time on my 01 CR80RB recently. She's a blast but the lack of suspension travel limits me a bit so this will take care of that.
I'm no good at loading pics. Sorry.

If you have local trails / woods to ride- and a willing body- dirtbikes bring MUCH more fun per mile than a street bike.
And although I am old school- it seems KTM is the way to go in the last couple decades.

Lots of areas to ride within about an hr. A couple closer that are more limited. As far as the body goes I've spent quite a bit of loot on gear recently because I don't bounce like I used to!
All the research I have done in the last couple of weeks points to the fact that European bikes have came a long way and the '05 and up KTM 2 strokes are winners (literally and figuratively). One reviewer went as far to say if you find one of those years in good shape you have hit the lottery. Lets hope so. Looks like a lot of fun!

That's an excellent bike! It's powerful and nimble enough to handle just about everything short of Moto X Freestyle competition. And working on a single cylinder two stroke is almost as much fun as riding one. I totally agree with PowerDubs, riding dirtbikes is huge fun. My DRZ 400 is heavy. That's okay, because I do way more fire road and desert riding than heavily wooded single track, and I can haul enough stuff for an overnight.
Get a good dirt bike. You won't regret it.

A lot of my Honda friends now have KTMs too. As a long-time Honda enthusiast, I have watched the Big H slip behind in more and more categories. Where once, the deserts and trails was a sea of Red, it's nothing but Orange out there now. Polaris sport ATVs and side-by-sides far outnumber Hondas, just as Kia and Hyundai are pushing them aside too.
On the positive side, we have out CB1100s. And a personal Hondajet if we want one. We sure do miss you, Soichiro Honda.

You won't regret it. I had a 2009 KTM 530XCW and loved it. Sold it to get into the ADV world and picked up a 2015 1190 Adventure. Loved that too...but am selling it to go back to the 500 EXC-F. Turns out, while bigger ADV bikes are "capable" of doing a lot off-road, a bike that's 150 lbs lighter is a lot more fun!

Don't forget those Honda personal robots.
Will be needing those to push down the toaster switch when we are drooling in our rocking chairs watching re-runs of our CB1100 excursions.
More good times ahead.

Yesterday: I've never seen so many KTMs on a showroom floor before:
