Hey, thanks for checking it out. I am going to try to make an effort to produce better quality videos this year. Mainly because it will force me to want to take more leisure and long distance rides to make them!

I find the most difficult (as many riders do) is getting optimal sound track with minimal wind noise of the beast-in-motion. Maybe something I will also improve this year too.

Cool for skiing while it lasted, but I never got too crazy with creating videos because it just seemed to take so much time to edit / make nice. Recently, for my b-day my son and wife decided to give me a new go-pro hero 9 with remote, cool carrying case, mounts...and no less than 5 user manuels (3 of them are exact repeats tho'). All the manuals have print smaller than our smallest here...I can't make out anything even with reading classes. I just don't know if I have the patience to do this type of thing anymore...but it's a birthday gift and from the looks of things not too cheap! Online says the camera has "wind supression"... but it's still in the box.

I have admired RE's twins and enjoyed your observations Gone. My air cooled retro twin is my R100 but if I replace it it'll likely be with a RE 650...... but only if they offer cast or spoke tubeless wheels.

The "naturally unbalanced" but then counterbalanced 270 degree twin in my Tenere' 700 is smoother than my 180* "perfectly balanced" Airhead and it sounds so nice. 360* twins are basically like a big single and 180 degree parallel twins create a rocking vibration. Are there any modern twins now that are not counterbalanced, other than HD which utilizes rubber mounts to quell vibrations?

Ok, so I just did a thing...
Happened so fast, in fact, that I'm still processing it. Worked from home today to supervise some plumbing repairs. Taking a brain break, I checked FB Marketplace, and saw a '21 orange INT650 with 800 miles, with a factory windscreen and rear rack. Won't disclose the price, but it was enough of a bargain that I felt that it would go very quickly, and when I showed it to Mrs. G, she said that if I was serious about it, I should jump on it. I contacted the owner quickly, and arranged a meeting. The challenges were that the bike was down in San Diego, and the weather was pretty dodgy. After the plumbers wrapped up, I ran to the bank, and headed south to check out the bike. It's pristine, garage kept, and has never seen rain. Coincidentally, the owner had purchased it from the dealership we just visited on Saturday. He was moving very soon and needed to liquidate. He said I had contacted him quickly enough to get first dibs, but there were others waiting to hear if I was going to buy or not. Couldn't pass it up! He was about 18 miles from Mom's house, so after we struck a deal, he was nice enough to follow me to Mom's. We beat the rain, the bike was safely tucked in her garage, and we drove back to get my car. He also threw in three OEM oil filters and a case of Castrol. Since it was dark by the time we were ready to roll, I didn't get a good picture of the bike. The bike cruised nicely on the freeway to Mom's, and seemed to track more securely than the bike I rented a few days ago - maybe because it's wearing Pirellis, rather than the Ceat tires the rental had. I'll pick it up soon when the weather is nice and we're visiting Mom. In the meantime, if anyone is interested in buying a mint CB300R, I'll be listing it for sale very soon. |
