I did it. I thought about it carefully and today I snapped up the deposit on the one and only Thruxton FE that will ship to Charleston. That's right....this dealer is getting exactly ONE. And it's going to be mine... I've never owned a bike this nice and it's fully double the cost of the most expensive motorcycle I've ever bought.
I don't think the CB is going to go away because it costs me nothing to own and gains me almost nothing in trade, but hooooo boy don't blame me if I show up to next year's rally in green....

Looks potent Mr. P. Congratulations!
Soooo, the CB1100 is your second most nicest bike, eh?

Yes. The CB was definitely the nicest bike I'd ever owned and still is until this triumph comes home. But it's undeniable ...this thing is premium. It's perfect. I wouldn't make a single tiny modification

How fun, MP!! I've always been drawn to bikes with forest, or darkish green tanks and black rims. The engine cases on your "in-the-mail" Thruxton look pretty sharp with a bit of silver for relief. I would love to see lots of photos of the tank from different angles once you take delivery. Looks like it's got a grey tank panel down the center, with lovely gold striping.
Oh my...the more I look at it, the more its sublime, yet subtle beauty takes form. Those gold forks and matching cans! How long did they say? Wasn't it April? Maybe they're being conservative and it will arrive much sooner.

That grey tank panel is actually a metal tension belt locked on with a buckle at the top. Nita a really cool touch. Also it's hard to see in the above pic but the colorway has gold striping all around the tank and the seat cowl to match as well.
They said the beginning of April at the soonest.

Great looking bike. Especially with the optional fairing.
I just went to the website and 'built' how I would buy one- fairing, heated grips, fork protectors and brushed engine side badges- just under 20k.
