Ever ride a Guzzi, Ducati, HD or any big twin? Hell, an older 500 2 stroke???
To me it's just character like the ping of the fins after riding on a hot day.
If you want smooth just buy a Goldwing. My Valk I can cold start with a nickel on the motor and it'll stay. I'm pretty sure I can do that with the CB.
Sure, the CB1100 has some faults and shortcomings but I'm cool with them.
Check the wiring connectors in the headlight bucket? If not, take a quick peek inside. If a bare connector is touching the inside of the bucket, consider wrapping some foam packaging around it.

Pretty sure my buzzing comes from the control cables rattling on the back of the helmet bucket. Gonna try black foam tubing. However, Im going to check insde the buket since you mentioned this. That can be some bad ju-ju there. Thanks..

Many of us have had the headlight buzzing. And it doesn’t usually sound like it coming from there. Wrap the connectors in thin foam, as suggested, and most likely the buzz will be gone.

Totally agree on this. The Forum was the source of my experience.
However, I had to dig pretty deep in my headlight bucket to review each connector. I recall a couple of searches to get all the sources of buzz.

I cannot believe anyone could say the CB1100, EX or DLX are rough. They are in my opinion and experience, the smoothest bikes I have ever ridden. I recently put heavier bar end weights on the EX and DLX. I have only ridden the EX at speed, but they did remove what tiny amount of handlebar buzz that was there, but even without, these bikes are super smooth.

You're making a mountain out of a molehill. The CB1100 doesn't run roughly, nor does it feel or sound like a Twin. It's still ridiculously smooth, even if it isn't quite as smooth as Honda could have made it.
Just ride the thing. You'll be fine.

I seem to recall someone on this forum replaced the intake cam with an exhaust cam and that smoothed out the "roughness" for him.

And way way back in my early twenties I had a single cylinder Ducati that, in a 2 hour ride, would literally vibrate the crap out of you.

Oh yes. My brother had a BSA M21 600cc side valve single plus sidecar, one of those huge fore and aft two seater ones with a big hinged top. It was a complete scream, nightmare and massive fun all at the same time. Character was its middle name! I did actually spend several hundred miles in that sidecar, probably the reason I am greying at the sides now.
