 Motor cuts off
#1
Has anyone had a problem with the motor shutting off when you hit a big bump? When I crossed a railroad track yesterday it just quit! It restarted it with no problem but this is the third time this has happened. I have a 2013 CB1100. I have checked the ground wire, connections, disconnected the side stand switch......

Maybe the sidestand's spring is a bit weak or loose or lengthened that in case of crossing any bump the sidestand moves down a little bit and kills the engine (security switch if side stand is used while engine is not in N).

You saved me typing it. This will most likely be what's occurring. Try taping the stand in the fully up position and jumping over some hump back bridges.

Oh and make a video of it!Beer

I'd check the battery terminals under the seat. The dealer installs the battery, and usually the newest mechs build the new bikes. If either is loose that could cause a cutout.

If the bike is still in warranty best take it to the dealer and give them a shot at diagnosing the problem.
