Backpressure?
#1
Are there any problems that could arise if the exhaust is too free flowing without doing a pcv. I just have a slip on muffler but I don't think it does much it the way of muffling the so therefor not much backpressure. I just don't want to do any damage to the engine.

I saw the title of this thread and thought it was a contribution to my "Ride to Eat" discussion. Confused

Sorry, can't answer your exhaust question, though.

Im not a expert I do have a Two Brothers slip on. I think the on board electronics adjust for this slight difference. But it may depend on where you live.
I'm currently at sea level don't know the difference if you live higher or what your humidity barometric pressure would be. In my case the bike did gain horse power
along with the motor running 20 degrees cooler. I know when I first installed and started the bike changed idle speed then smoothed out to where it should be yes it does idle smoother. So my thinking was that the Honda box adjusted first start and been smooth sailing since. Also I have no decal popping when down shifting so I believe I'm not running lean. Others have installed slip ons with great results Can only tell you my results I'm sure others will post with any problems or the potential for damage. Have a great day!

Even running an open header wouldn't cause enough of a loss of back pressure to cause any problems. You would basically need to run the engine without the pieps at all to cause any major damage to the engine, and then it wouldn't be instantaneous.

OK thanks I appreciate the advice, I would really hate hurting my bike, she's kinda my pride and joy.

One thing I meant to mention was the Cat Convertor built into your exhaust pipe controls most of your pressure installing a slip on has very small amount of difference in your back pressure.
