CB hits a bump and quits momentarily

I don't think I'm violating any copyright rules when I post the following as it is widely available to the public.
In the most recent issue of Rider magazine a CB owner posted a question in the technical Q & A section.
He says that when he hits a big bump on his 2103 CB Deluxe the engine quits; starts again; the neutral light comes on and he continues on his way. He says he has checked all connections, fuses, grounds and the sidestand.
The reply to his question was that he probably has a faulty bank angle sensor - aka the fall-down switch. This could/would cause the fuel system to shut down momentarily.
There was also a suggestion that it could be the sidestand safety switch and asks if the owner tested it or replaced .

A lot of dirt and grit on the underside can crud up the side stand switch. I can't say that ive seen it on a one year old bike though.

The clutch interlock connections on the left hand switch assy on many of the 2013s was suspect and needed to be checked, but that would only keep it from starting, don't think it would affect it if it was already running.

At first blush, it sounds a lot like the typical sidestand switch problem. A hard jolt can cause the sidestand to move down and activate the switch, which should momentarily cut the ignition. The odd thing is that the neutral light comes on. Just activating the sidestand switch would not cause that to happen. I suspect the problem is probably somewhere else in the miles of wiring on this bike.

Didn't somebody post on this site about a similar problem last year? I wonder if it's the same person, or if this is a more common problem?

The OP claims the problem was fixed by replacing the tip over switch, aka Bank Angle Sensor.

BTW, the following may not be common knowledge unless you actually read the Owner's Manual.
You have to cycle the ignition switch following a tip over.
Neither the fuel pump nor the ignition will work because the Bank Angle Sensor stays active until the ignition is shut off.
The engine will turn over, it just won't start. Can be a very frustrating experience, especially after you just dropped your bike.

The O.P. and the letter to Rider seem to be one in the same (ACE).
However, there seems to be a typo in Rider magazine as they refer to the bike as a 2013 CB1100 "Deluxe".

This has happened before with Hondas .When I worked at a Honda shop years ago Honda recalled the 88 -89 Gold Wings because the
bank angle sensor leaked and would shut the bike off when it hit a bump. They ended up recalling all the Gold Wings and ST1100s.
I guess they did not want to take any chances. Only the 88 did it.
Of course some of the better techs that worked there figured out a
few tricks to beat Hondas flat rate time on the job - good old American ingenuity.
