hi, is wd 40 good to use for the chain ?

WD-40 can be a great chain cleaner but should be dried off afterwards and a proper chain lube applied. I prefer the dry wax chain lubes as they don't fling off nor attract grit that can act as an abrasive on the chain and sprockets.
Best chain lube around, for me anyway.

I've been using Maxima Chain Wax at recommendation of dealer and have not had to clean my chain in 13K miles.....I apply it every 500 miles.

Any chain wax is good but for chain cleaning - nothing beats kero!

Tirox Synthetic Chain Wax. Best stuff I've come across so far -- easy on, zero fling and cheap for a nice big can.

Kerosene for cleaning and Repsol chain lube. This stuff does not fling off.

I use an aerosol wax-based lube that goes on as a foam, with a tube-nozzle. Put the machine on its center stand, let it idle, put it in first gear so the rear wheel is spinning...and spray the lube on the rear sprocket. Also get the sides of the chain.

I used duct tape to make a short rear extension to the chain guard also - looks not-so-good but it catches lube that might be flung right after treating it. As well as water and mud off wet roads.

So far...no issues. I'll know better as the miles log up.

I do the same as JustPassinThru but I need to get a better lube as it gets thrown on to the rear wheel as I ride and makes a mess.
