What Does Your Refueling Regimen Consist Of?
#1
When you top it off, how do you go about it?

I fill up bike between legs, standing. Clicking the lever until gas starts rising up the fill hole, stopping, and waiting for it to go down -- repeat till it stops going down. Takes maybe a minute after the initial tank fill.

Its kinda stupid, but I get about 25-30 extra kms from a tank from this vs. just filling once and stopping, which on my loop rides actually lets me fuel in better places.

I pump slowly. Once I see the gas rise to the top of the tank, but not into the fill pipe, I cut the gas off.

I am kind of a short dude, so I have to get off the bike to put gas in the tank. Don't know why, but I always fill it from the left side. I usually run the gas in pretty slowly to avoid any hick-ups or sloshing. When full, I always turn the gas nozzle sideways and point it up as I move it away from the bike to avoid any dribbles on to the paint.

+1 what 4my said if at a pump. I usually fill mine in the garage from a gas can. Fill up to the neck and stop, sidestand or centerstand. Overfilling could be bad and saturate the charcoal canister.

Depends on how far I'm gonna ride after filling up. If I'm only going a few miles, I don't top it off so there will be sufficient head space for expansion (especially when it's hot) and for parking it on it's side stand (on an angle). If I'm gonna' drive it any significant distance, I top it off as much as possible.

I always put the bike on the center stand when fueling.

Get off the bike, put it on the centre stand and fill it into the neck. When it subsides it's done.

I'm sure there's a video on this forum somewhere of the possible consequences of sitting on your bike while you fill it.

Pull up to pump, turn off key, put side stand down, climb off and flip modular face piece up. Remain standing on left, remove tank bag and sit it on seat. Get out and swipe credit card, select regular or 87 Octane. Fill into bottom of neck, no additional added. Close gas cap, put key back in ignition, put tank bag back on. Take receipt from pump and stuff in left pants pocket. Climb on, kick side stand up, turn on ignition and fire it up. Toggle to trip B (miles ridden on this tank and observe miles ). Zero Trip B, toggle back to Trip A (miles ridden on this day.) Close modular helmet, snick in gear, look around and take off.

Don't have a regimen. Just fill it up, pay, then make like the flidgens. Or in the US, pay, fill it up, then make like the flidgens.

Cheers

Sidestand down.
Get off bike.
Put bike on center stand.
Open visor to remove sunglasses.
Remove sunglasses and place the precariously on the handlebars/instrument panel.
Reach for wallet.
Remember that I cannot reach wallet with glove on.
Remove right glove.
Remove wallet.
Slide card.
See attendant because wife just slid her card at the pump next to me.
Return to bike and select 87 octane unless there's a higher octane that's enthynol-free available.
Fill tank. Top off to bottom of the neck.
Return nozzel to hook. Close tank and return key to ignition.
Take receipt.
Return wallet to pocket.
Don right glove.
Return bike to sidestand.
Mount bike.
Realize that sunglasses fell off bike when returning it to the sidestand.
Dismount.
Reclaim sunglasses and return to face.
Reset Trip A.
Start bike.
Put bike in gear and engage clutch.
Remember that sidestand is still down.
Kick up sidestand.
Restart engine, engage clutch, get in line with fellow riders who have been waiting for me.
Ride off.

Easy peasy.
