MTC-do you have your route available for me to borrow? The "Lake Michigan Circle Tour" sounds like the best idea as I like the 'loop' version of getting back home to sleep in my own bed. Don't mind taking a night off in a hotel, but the urgency of getting back home might be a better motivator to get my 1k miles in 24hrs. Plus the wife prefers that option too haha
Hope you two are well regardless.
Peace and Axle Grease,
Dave
Hey Dave, unfortunately I'm recovering from some injuries that have kept me from riding this whole season. Hopefully I will be able to to accomplish the task next season.
My goal is to ride cross country as a reward for recovering and I will set up the Iron Butt for part of that trip.
One of my touring buddies attempted it from NY to Chicago on a Victory Octane while I was away. He made it to 970 before he said his arms just would not stop falling asleep on him and he stopped to camp for safety reasons.
Please keep me updated on how your task/planning is going.

Highly recommend your route exclude freeways and interstates if at all possible. The boredom and mileage countdown from droning down the slab for hours on end becomes very fatiguing.

Sorry to hear that man. But your coast2coast trek sounds like a great way to celebrate your renewed health when ready.
I'll be documenting this process as it's something I'm sure a lot of those in the Midwest wouldn't mind getting an earful of. Living in Chicagoland is the pits for motorcycling so you have to venture out to MI or WI to get anywhere that has good scenic routes.

Yes I have my route. And a few other thoughts. Let’s talk.
