2.8 miles

I don't ride my CB 1100 as much as I used to since the mileage is getting up there on it. I bought the NC 750X DCT(the quarter horse) to use as a daily rider for keeping the miles down on the CB. So I ride it every day for the most part.

Today was Sunday, and a perfect day for a ride on the CB1100 (the pleasure horse). This morning before it got too hot I rolled the CB out, fired it up and let it warm up. Leaving my driveway I have a 7/10 mile road at 25 mph. Hit the stop sign at the end of the road and turn right and you drop down a 45 mph hill into a right hand/left hand switch back curve, a 100 yard straight then a right hand, left hand, right hand up hill set of curves.

At 2.8 miles into the ride I noticed I was smiling. Wasn't forced, just happened. 66 miles later I pulled back into the garage and smiled again.

Love riding my CB!

That road looks fun to ride! Had a couple more people ask me this last week about what year it was, if it was restored. And both had CBs back in the day. Got to appreciate what we have when we have it.

On Saturday afternoon, my wife and I flew home for a few days to see family. This morning, I went out to the garage to find the rear tyre of the CB1100 completely flat. I pumped it up, put a little air in the front tyre, and took it off the battery tender. The fuel pump cycled when I turned the key and with only the faintest suggestion of hesitation it started first turn of the key.

I rode off on a short errand—a whole 3.9 kms—and enjoyed every moment of it.

How did Ferret put it? "Love riding my CB!"

Completely flat after a few days? Better start looking for a nail or valve stem leak or something.

It's been 3 months milord, but I think there might be a valve stem leak.

I saw some guy on a YT video once say "You ever notice you never see any motorcycles parked in front of psychiatrist's or therapist's offices? That's because motorcycles are therapy for the rider." Truer words have never been spoken!

I do the same with my setup.
The white CB is a hard working horse and long distance tourer, has two side racks/panniers, and tall EX street shield.
The DLX is a local rider and a road toddler.....at least for this year while I still have two of them.
Next year, I will decide about my white fate Undecided

Last week I got the '13 back on the road after a year off (I wasn't riding much so I stored the '13 and did what little riding on the 650L and '14).

Prepping it for the road (still need to install new front pads - they got some fork oil on them) I found the headlight bucket completely cracked. Replaced.

The blinkers were always slow to function and a DMV check seemed to indicate a faulty selenoid. Replaced.
Well that didn't fix it so I dived into the switch gear - again. Purged 99% of the grease and that seemed to cure it

It has lowered handle bars, lowered pegs and high K&H seat. A very different riding experience from the '14.

I found I really missed it! And it looks better than the '14.

A YouTuber has strongly suggested that a heated seat (he was reviewing a BMW) is simply wonderful. So now I have to decide if I have it added to my RDL. I have a couple weeks to decide.
