When I had my Kawi Nomad 1500, I noted that it would ping really bad at only moderate throttle openings. The first thing I did was insert a 500 ohm resistor in the ambient temperature sensor wire to the ECU. That spoofed the ECU into thinking it was hotter than it really was and it added more fuel. That worked OK, but not perfect. I had also done the hole-saw mod to the twin mufflers, and that sounded great. Trying to eliminate the ping, I went with a 4-pot fuel module, then reworked the air intake to get more air and removed the idle air injectors. The module was simple to install and took a bit of fiddling to tune, but once I found the sweet spot, the result was fantastic. Very good throttle response, revved faster, no ping, and a great sound. Once I had it perfect, I of course sold it to get the FJR, which is another story.

Warmer air takes less fuel, not more.
That’s why engines make more power when it is cold out.

^^ +1, or you may say that cold air is more dense = more O2 provides better combustion = increase in power.

The CB1100 outfit could make for an incredible winter snow thrower. Just imagine placing the snow two houses away and look and sounding good doing it.

I may have had that backwards; the resistor puts less voltage into the ECU, so that made it think it was colder, not hotter.
