Dang! For once I find myself in agreement with you, popgun.

Ding Dongs indeed! Sad

Now that said, and given much previous discussion about installation difficulties, is there a gender trick here we should be aware of?

RLET supplies: New new stock ?

I needed some more RLETs and ordered a bunch from my dealer.

What I got was packaged in more modern looking packaging.
Gone is the separate printed red and white label with the part number and in it's stead is the part number and bar code printed directly on the bag, a cheaper way to do it for sure.

I wonder if the change to modern packaging means that Honda had run out of old stock RLETs and had to have the RLET machine fired up to spit out some more ?

Left old style package
Right new packaging..

Interesting. None of the ones I've gotten have come in that clear bag with the paper label.

I though Ridem cleared out all the old stock last year when he ordered all he could get and they were not available for a while. But even then I had mine before that and all in the white with printed part number bag.

I know I will be bringing an old thread back to life, but I was using the search feature to answer this very important question for myself. I have stated that I am strongly considering a new cb in other threads. I will be sure to insist that RLETs come on my bike or the deal is off. I laughed my butt off, googled some pics, and decided that they must be there. This thread should be a sticky...

Scout, keep in mind that the dealer won't have a clue what an RLET is. We made that name up on the board. I forget who gets the credit, been a while Smile

Scout... It would be easier for potential CB1100 riders to become educated about RLETs if this thread were made "sticky". However, there is something about the journey, the search for an answer, the intellectual curiosity satisfied, that takes a person from being merely a motorcyclist to being a CB1100 Rider. Be it clear, though, that RLETs themselves need not be installed on one's bike in order to achieve symbiosis with this fine machine, but knowledge of their existence, history, and speculated purpose is of paramount importance in the process.

Short-cutting the spiritual journey of using the search function and reading post after post about these small, but important, accessories would deprive potential owners and owners-not-yet-informed of the opportunity for CB1100 Nirvana.

I vote "no" to making RLET threads "sticky".

I still say: NOBODY show Redbirds the secret handshake!
