And I think Volvo is one of the last holdouts to sell a wagon in the U.S.
My friend's Mom has started using a wheelchair, and has trouble climbing into an SUV. So, a traditional station wagon seemed ideal. Large enough cargo area to hold a wheelchair, and a low body that's easy to get in and out of.
We started looking at what was still available - not much... Volvo, Buick, VW, maybe Subaru...

I think a shooting break is a 2 door wagon as well. Mostly available from posh british an Italian manufacturers like Aston Martin and Ferrari. Subaru Outback is the last stronghold of wagons in the US, Volvo also has them in regular lineup but sells way less. I actually own both a Volvo and an Outback, love them both

I learned to drive in a ‘64 Chevy II Nova Wagon. It had a 6 cyl. engine. I wouldn’t mind having a modern version now.

Dodge Magnum SRT-8. It had a 6.1 liter Hemi and Brembo brakes on 20 in. wheels. All in a station wagon form. What's not to love? Too bad they stopped making them in 2008.
I've seen a lot of wagons win demolition derbies by driving backwards as much as possible.

I miss Magnums. I used to rent them do to event work. Always got a "That thing got a Hemi?" comment at stop lights.
