Car choice for motorcycle enthusiasts
#61
It took a while for the industry to move on, I'm feeling a little like this guy. I have a 1952 MG TD with no seat belts and the front windshield folds down flat on the bonnet leaving your shoulders and head sitting above the rest of the machine. As for reaching La Jamais Contente's 65MPH, no chance!

"human crayon" excellent analogy. - Big GrinClap

Is there any other choice for people who ride motorcycles than the Ultimate Driving Machine?

"Human crayon" reminds me of the films they showed us in Driver's Ed class back in high school. Once you watched Red Asphalt, you were gonna be a safe driver!

I bought a 1994 Acura Legend Coupe new, and kept it for 25 years. When it became too long in the tooth (or would cost too much to make it pass TX inspections, many small work-around fixes and a cracked windshield) I sold it cheap and found a 2003 Honda Accord V6 Coupe, in great shape, who's interior closely matched the Acura's. I like it's size, 105" wheel base with 240 hp. Not exactly because of the bikes, but because I like performance coupes. I don't commute much on the bike, one day a week at the most. I ride for fun, not for transportation. I like my coffee and air conditioning on the commute.

I can't imagine a Texas summer without A/C.

Bummer that they just axed the Accord Coupe. I had read an article somewhere recently about "Affordable sleepers", and the V6 Accord coupe was listed.

I remember when the Legend first came out. It was back in my insurance adjuster days, and I went out to look at a new Legend Coupe that had been tapped by one of our insureds. The owner was quite full of himself. I said "Wow, nice car", to which he answered "Yes, nice EXPENSIVE car", and looking at the Ford Taurus company car I had arrived in, told me that I would never be able to work hard enough in my lifetime to be able to afford an Acura Legend.

Bull sh*t...after 5-10 years and similar kms, Ford Taurus* would be more expensive by maintenance + repairs + resell value than Accord Coupe.
*Not to mention about rental cars and frustration while in a repair shop Huh
