Peter, allow me to jump in on the PS2 buffeting quesion. Chuckk may have different results, but while I was pleased with the improvement I wanted to try adding the MRA X-creen spoiler, as recommended by a fellow member.
I took it over to the coast, about 250 miles, yesterday and back today and was very happy with the additional improvement.
Don't get me wrong, the PS2 alone was a big improvement, but especially at freeway speeds the spoiler works very well. I am done with aerodynamics.
Hopefully Chuckk will chime in.
Here are a couple of shots I got on my return ride today.

It looks funky as opposed to the retro cool (in my opinion) look of the unadorned PS2, but makes the ninety minutes or so of 70 to 75 mph I traverse to get TO the road to the coast much nicer. I can put up with biplane bifocals.

Ben

I do have my favorite trees and bushes.. that brings up another good point with my customized heated gloves.. picture yourself fighting with a zipper with gloves on.. impossible.. so the gloves, at least one must come off.. if the wires run up the sleeves of your jacket, one must disconnect them at the glove.. kinda hard to do with gloves on.. with my system, you just pull to a stop take each glove off and lay them on the handlebar grips.. you could even "leave them running" if all you are doing is a quick stop.. boy, does that feel good, putting on a nice toasty glove after exposing your hands to the wintry chill..when my buddy stops by my shop, I want to do a little video of how easy it all is.. no audio is really needed..

so by buffeting, you mean wind coming around the windshield? .. how tall are you.. it must be coming over the top if your add-on solves the problem I'm thinking.. I am 5' 11" ..I have experimented by stretching my neck, if you will, as high as I could to catch wind over the top and I have succeeded .. but there is a comfortable margin before I start feeling the wind..

Chuckk and Ben 70, keep talking, I am listening, you are very good source of information in my case...
I do not like wiring around handle bar, and usually don't ride below 53F, but last and first rides of each season always are an exception...and very early morning, long distance, are often chilly...brrrr..
Did some research in self contained battery/12V heated gloves, and Gerbing G-12 could be my answer, request for more info already sent, as there is no dealer in Canada, and US does not list G-12

Did you take your P2 to an 82 mile/h ride so far ???
I will not use any extension, P2 is 2" taller than my present SS Ex, and this should be good enough for 5'7" shorty..lol
Ben, can you take frontal pic of your P2, please.

Peter, I will post a pic from the front tomorrow. I am around 6'. I use the spoiler adjusted so it kind of funnels the air up. I am still looking over the shield. If you are shorter in the torso you might not need it. I have had the PS2 to 85, above 80 it actually seemed better to me. With the spoiler I have had it a little over 80 and it worked well.
Both ways make it more comfortable to hang with freeway traffic speeds.

Ben

Peter.. I would think you would want the t-12.. then you would be getting the warmest one.. the g-12 is more for warmer temps like fall riding.. the g-12's talk about using that "y" harness, I believe..that is the one that runs down your sleeves.. the t-12's can run for an hour.. are your commutes longer that that..

PB: In terms of heated gloves, if you don't ride below 53F

then the 7.2V offerings should more than suffice. This keeps you free from entanglement and you can use them anywhere (e.g. shoveling snow, skiing, and etc.).

If you are doing touring hours at 0C and below, then 12V offerings should be your focus.

good point G.O... my theory is to buy gloves that might get a little too warm, then turn them down a notch.. I have had my gerbings for 6 years or so and find I use them on high almost all of the time, turning them down a little as I return to ventura and civilization .. just like with your bike, sometimes you wish for just a little more horse power..

chuckk ..
question on the gerbings... can you buy extra batteries and just switch them out if you are on a long ride? .. how about having an extra battery pack and then rigging up a charger for them on the bike ? how long does it take to re-charge them ? ..

chuckk ..

I don't know about Gerbing, however, most competing brands allow the rider to easily swap out the battery when it is depleted. I have noticed many competing glove batteries are charged via a proprietary charger arrangement. Given these batteries are LiON (or similar composition), I am unsure if the charging profile management is done at the wall wart or shrink-wrapped within the battery module. This would have to be understood before retrofitting a LiON charger to the 12V system of the CB. There could be some electronic finagling involved. You definitely don't want a battery to catch fire (a chemical fire) while wearing it.

Here are more pics of the PS2 with X-creen, from the front...

From the rear...

complete with bugs and dust for better contrast.
Adjusted like this I look over the top and it feels good.
Here it is full up. I look through the X-screen and can ride open visor at 65-70 mph, but this is not the way I use it, that was just experimenting.

I mounted it with the clamps initially, but the pivot point was too high for me to get the adjustment I wanted. I set the template about 3/4" lower than the instructions, which say to put the top of the template at the top of the windshield...I wanted it lower.
If you haven't seen it, the Ferret has explained airflow in general and specifically for this bike as it applies to windshield height. He would probably cut it off 11.25" above the key switch. That's too east, I like to fiddle with stuff. Oh, yes it was great for the chill coming over the hill!
