I wonder if I'm smart enough to hide a 401k withdrawal from Mrs. G.

I can hardly believe I'm going to own one of these. I think I have finally seen a bike that is more beautiful than the CB1100. What a gorgeous piece of machinery. I can't wait to see pictures (and hopefully videos) of your when you get it. I don't think my arms, shoulders and back could handle that position for very long though at this stage of the game. You'd be surprised...having ridden the bike myself a couple of times now it's a surprisingly comfortable and relaxed position (02-13-2024, 04:02 AM)Gone in 60_imp Wrote: I wonder if I'm smart enough to hide a 401k withdrawal from Mrs. G. See what you do is you don't withdraw from the 401k for the bike, you borrow against the house for the bike and then propose paying down the house with a little teeny draw on the 401k. It's the house! How can she say no?

Isn't "she" a Forum member, Mr. P?

Gone was talking about Mrs. Gone in his post, so that's who "she" is.

February is almost over, Mr. P. Hold it together, but don't squeeze too hard.

It's the house! How can she say no? Hmm… bad timing unfortunately. She just paid down the mortgage by a chunk. So if I came along with a mortgage pay down scheme of my own, she’d see right through it. There’s a reason I don’t handle the money… and giving it more thought, our guy would rat me out to her. I had already worked out the “where did this come from” part by explaining that I painted the Bonneville green, while quickly and quietly selling that bike. They both say Triumph on the side. But the more I look at that bike, the more tempting it becomes.

Gone, this plan is not likely to end happily. Just sayin’.

Gone, what is with this motorcycle obsession?
Look at Mr. P. and observe how he somehow is managing an experience meltdown. Surely Forum therapy is the place to be.

Thruxton? What Thruxton? See, all good.
In my earlier more reckless financial days I might have tried to put a plan in motion, but not these days. |
