There’s just something fun about a “flickable” bike, especially on tight mountain roads, and being a Honda is a decided bonus. My first major bike, after school and marriage, was a 1974 CB550 bought in 1976 for $1,000.
I don’t find any comparison between the two unless you count the smiles factor. Riding any bike is just so much fun, enjoy the difference.

I really enjoyed my CB500XA. It only felt lacking at high speeds on 4-lane highways. Oddly enough I felt more connected to it when riding because it took more attention shifting and accelerating than my CB1100 EX. The EX because of its big engine and wide torque band is the easiest motorcycle I have owned. There is something to be said about riding a small bike hard, than a large motorcycle easily.

Yea and because I have ridden liter bikes with their massive grunt for so many years it feels strange to ride a bike you have to row the gearbox all the time. Not saying it isn't fun, just saying it's so much different than what I am accustomed to.
