NO MORE C-ABS?
One point which was not mentioned so far is that it seems that the CB 1100 EX has only the simple ABS and not the Combined ABS. If you watch the video (see [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=1643&highlight=Video]here) carefully, you notice that there is only an "ABS" sticker on the tank no "Combined ABS" sticker...
Moreover, it seems that all the 2014 models (esp. the NC750 series) have only the simple ABS. When I check and compare the German Honda websites of e.g. NC700S and NC750S the description of the two bikes is really differing wrt. ABS. And also the pics of the front brake disc on that website show 2 brake lines (C-ABS) for the NC700S and only 1 brake line (simple ABS) for the NC750S.
I don't know if it was mentioned already, but another point is that the CB 1100 is 12 kg heavier than the CB 1100 2013.

Dealer near me has them on sale for $8900.00. He has three that did not sell. The new black is great but I think Honda will let the remaining stock sell out before bringing it back again. We in the USA are still buying Harleys and twin cylinder cruisers. The local Harley dealer sold tons of Street Glides and Road Glides with the Bat Wing fairings on the front. They even said sport bike riders are making the switch.
Why not just change the front sprocket to a 17? I did that on my Suzuki TU250 and it worked like a charm. The nice thing about five speeds is longer gear ratios and less shifting.

According to the literature, first five gears are the same and the extra gear give us over drive. This is better than changing the sprocket. It does not help that my Griso is a six speed.
To be fair, I borrowed a buddies GS750 back in 84-85 and that sucker was only 5 speeds. I kept trying to up shift but the rpm's told me that. If I recall, 6 speeds was cast into the case down by the shifter but she was only a five speed.

The only feature on the EX that interests me is the double walled header pipes. I don't like spoked wheels and my gas tank is bigger than my urine tank. I guess 6 speeds would be nice, but I'm used to the 5 speed by now. And I love the red color.
Guess I'll be keeping my limited-edition, one-year only 2013.

Was it just me but didn't one of those "so called" new videos have a year on it of 2012? Was this a promotional video from 2012 for the 2014 release?
I am still waiting to see what the dealer has and not giving in to the chat floating around the old interweb. We all know we can trust 110% of what we read or hear on the interweb.

I'm with you Spaceman, I like my 2013. The duel exhaust is nice, but I'll keep my 2013.

Okay, so there are a couple of vids out on Youtube for the 2014 CB1100 EX. I love the dual exhaust, seat, and the addition of 6 sp and the gear indicator. In my opinion, the tank looks a little bulbous and I am not a fan of the spoked wheels or the new side covers. It is an attractive package but the bike almost looks like Honda is trying too hard to make the bike resemble a 70s CB750. Maybe that is the purpose.
Wonder if the dual exhaust and seat would fit the 2013. May have to think about those down the road. Overall, a nice bike with some nice upgrades. Owners will be proud to own this bike and Honda did a nice job and listened to their customers.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. I suppose that's why they decided to raise the headlight too. I'm just being a little mischievous here, but in 30 or 40 years I see the 2013's being the sought after model, much like the '69 CB750 is now. And just as a '75 or '76 CB750 is a better bike in almost every way than a '69 or '70 CB750, excepting maybe outright power, the early model 1100s may eventually have that same cachet, despite lacking the spoke wheels or the 6-speed transmission of the post-2013 model. If I'm not dead by the time it's decided then it will be fun to see if I was right. Then again, If I'm not dead by then, it will be fun simply to not be dead.

I started a tread - Why I like Motorcyles - on a Political forum where
they have many topics.
I explained that I might not bee to upset if the CB 1100 isn't
really popular.because of exclusivity.I like Owning a bike that is
seldom seen.That eventually became the case with the Honda Rune.
It was produced for just 2 years.I think the goal was originally that every
Honda dealer would get one.I'm still not sure what the production number
ended up.I heard a thousand.I know my Dealer ended up getting 3.
I got the very first one with a $ 500 deposit.I was 3rd in line.But
the very first model to hit my dealership was the lower priced model with
standard wheels { as opposed to the optional double chromed wheels }.
So I got bumped up to first.
I also bought years earlier the first run of the VTX 1800 when it came
out in spring of that year.I think I got the 3rd VTX 1800 at my dealership.
Loved that bike.It had huge torque and about the best roll-on in top
gear of any crusier up to that time.Plus the VTX was fabulous in straight
line ability.I remember once getting caught in a summer rain storm with no
helmut just my eye glasses.I drove rock steady in pounding rain for like
30 minutes at about 50 mph. { the rain was stinging my face } on a straight
stretch all the way home.I used one hand most of the time to help wipe
the rain from my face.I eventually got the very expensive HardKrome
Sideburners exhaust { $ 599 } which looked awesome.I dialed them in with
a new Digital device { techlusion } that was smaller and supposedly better than
the power commander at the time.I eventually called Techlusion to talk
to a rep about how best to use the unit.I ended up talking to the Inventor
of the unit.
