I can say that from the saddle this bike does not feel anywhere near as much as it weighs in my opinion. It changes direction very well and is easy to maneuver at low speeds as well. It might not turn in as quickly as the GB but with the thinnish tires the CB has it does just fine.
In the end it all comes down to how the bike feels to you. I've ridden with people who can barely get a toe down at a stop which for me would be a no go but for them it's comfortable. To each their own and if you end up getting the CB all the better. That's a good lead-in for me. The handling is absolutely superb, no doubt. World-class. I have noticed quite a few threads on this forum posted by those who have dropped this bike, though, and most of them have been experienced riders. I think you may have indicated you did not know how I made it thirty years without knowing how to pick up a bike, and I don't take that as a slur at all, based on the number of people dropping this bike (as seen on this forum). The simple answer is that, although I do know how to pick up a bike, I have not dropped a bike in thirty years; this amounts to about 600,000-700,000 miles of riding and around 40 motorcycles, but who's counting, right? What I did was to learn how to stay ahead of the machine no matter how big it was. Biggest bike I owned was about 700 pounds, smallest was about 200. I rode motocross and desert and learned to contend with a 36" seat height. I have had quite a number of bikes with wide saddles that were tall as well. One has to stay ahead of the machine.
Dropping a heavy bike can lead to a dangerous situation at worst, and be very discouraging at best. That's where I am coming from here. So anyone considering this machine needs to take that into account. You really have to be able to put it on the centerstand, back it out of a parking space, move it around safely in the garage, and all that jazz.
This is all just offered as something to chew on.

So, in the end, she rode the CB, and, as expected, she dropped it. But it was the hottest day, the pavement was soft, it hurt her more than the bike, we parted ways, and never spoke again.

My wife rides my bike fairly frequently and thus far, my son and I are the only ones who have dropped it. Also, it's been down three times and I've had no problems lifting it or with it restarting, contrary to comments made earlier in this thread.
I guess if she had dropped it the first time she rode it, though, she may never have ridden it again. She doesn't have any interest in owning one in any case.

My wife has ridden my CB on occasion but much prefers her taller V-strom, she says she feels cramped when on the CB.

I don't think women are interested in daily talking about motorcycles. For the most part bikes are not their " passion". They ride, they may like riding, but talking about luggage racks or exhaust pipes or ECU's just doesn't seem to encourage them to post. My wife is a rider and passenger. Loves riding. Could care less about talking about them. She lurks here occasionally and will ask me about different things, but I doubt you will ever see her post. She sure loves watching HGTV and talking about that though, which makes my eyes glaze over, and all I hear is waa wa wa wa wahhh..( like on Charlie Brown lol)
There are exceptions. Karen over on the ST board has 2 ST's attends rallies all over the country, works on her own bikes, posts daily. I met her when she rode down here from Connecticut (I think... i know she's from the east coast somewhere) for a rally here in Ohio. Heck of a rider and motorcycle enthusiast she is.

Yea I dont think she posts here
But it would be awesome if someone like her did!
It's awesome that she wouldn't marry her husband until he could lap Brooklands at 100 mph average!

How many of us could get away demanding that from the wife to be! And that was a serious challenge in those days! The tires, the riding gear, and etc.

There was a lady over at the XL Sportster forum that posted regularly and mostly from the road. She was hard core and had over 100K on a 883 Sportster.
