My CB750 also has an over active charging system that tends to dry up the battery. I've perfected my bump start technique over the years when the battery reminds me of this unpleasant condition.

In the old days, you could get an extra 6 months life out of a battery by just using the kick starter when the battery was too far gone for the electric start.

Does anyone carry a battery powered jump starter like this [url=http://www.amazon.com/BESTEK-Ulta-Slim-Multi-Functional-Portable-External/dp/B00ZZKGVY4/ref=lp_318336011_1_23?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1456268119&sr=1-23#Ask]one?

I guess it would be one more thing to remember to charge once a week or so.

I carry a Battery Tender jump battery in my tail bag just in case. I have not used it to jump my bike yet but I do use it occasionally to charge my GoPro batteries on the road.

Miss a kick starter. All my bikes without one just have never felt correct.

My W650 had a kickstarter, I like the added insurance and I miss it..

You guys can keep your kickstarter, your carburetors, your spoke wheels, tube tires, bias ply tires. I don't want a hand crank on my car either! Smile

I'm with you, popgun. Whenever I've got off my bike and kicked it 'cause it won't start, all I've ever got is broken toes.

LOL. I've had one broken toe and the doctor just laughed and said nothing he could do. Still had to pay him... Sad

I've got one. It saved me a couple of times with my KLR that had heated grips that I would forget to turn off. Finally wired them to the ignition. Anyhow, that power pack is a wonder. Jumped my friend's big diesel pickup with it.
