iF I'm still moderating this forum in 25 years, someone please ride down to the nursing home and pull the plug.
Don't worry ferret. You'll only think you're still moderating this forum and the nice nursing home people will let you keep thinking that as they spoon feed you your oatmeal.

Nursing home? I imagined Ferret's brain in a glass bucket of clear fluid with cables attached directly to the server.

I can see where this is going...
Someday when they tell the story about the CB1100 Forum, it will be said that The ferret was actually a web server / database. They'll add that we found some guy named Mickey to make a few public appearances here and there posing as "The ferret" to help humanize things. But for those in the know, The ferret was kind of like [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HAL_9000]HAL 9000, but in control of a forum about the CB1100 and other things related to motorcycling as opposed to a spaceship.
(A word to the wise, don't even think about trying to unplug The ferret.)

I won't pull the plug, I will smother you with a pillow right before I pull the water fountain off the wall and throw it through the window letting all of us escape the asylum, just like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. That would be a more appropriately 'retro' end, gloriously reliving our youth for one last time.

In my Marketing classes, I was always taught the fallacy of "building a better mousetrap." Without good marketing, the world's finest mousetrap won't be successful. I think the CB1100 is a good example of this, at least in the U.S. The press unanimously praised the bike, but either Honda overestimated the demand, 1970-80 Japanese bikes are less appealing than experts thought, the pricing was off, or some combination thereof. Certainly, riders have never been older than they are now, so maybe those who are still riding are opting for lighter alternatives (or Harleys). In any event, it's a shame the bike only lasted two years here, because it's one heck of a mousetrap.

Guth : Ferret, I can't get into the site. Can you fix my admin ID?
Ferret (calmly) : I'm sorry, Guth. I'm afraid I can't do that.
